First, our analysis of crisis episodes between 1994 and 2002 establishes a clear relationship between the persistence of crises, their complexity, and the intensity of movement of key macroeconomic variables. Second, we provide a systematic examination of the determinants of crisis duration. Our econometric analysis suggests that initial conditions and the external environment plays a key role in determining crisis persistence. The policy response also matters, but cannot offset a record of poor past policies. Overall, the results underscore the critical importance of crisis prevention efforts. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2009/103 606 $aCapital movements 606 $aFinancial crises 606 $aBalance of payments$2imf 606 $aBanks and Banking$2imf 606 $aCapital account crisis$2imf 606 $aCurrency$2imf 606 $aCurrent Account Adjustment$2imf 606 $aDebts, External$2imf 606 $aDuration Analysis$2imf 606 $aEconomic & financial crises & disasters$2imf 606 $aExchange rate arrangements$2imf 606 $aExports and Imports$2imf 606 $aExternal debt$2imf 606 $aFinance$2imf 606 $aFinancial Crises$2imf 606 $aFinancial crises$2imf 606 $aFinancial Risk Management$2imf 606 $aFinancial services$2imf 606 $aForeign Exchange$2imf 606 $aForeign exchange$2imf 606 $aIndex Numbers and Aggregation$2imf 606 $aInterest rates$2imf 606 $aInterest Rates: Determination, Term Structure, and Effects$2imf 606 $aInternational economics$2imf 606 $aInternational Lending and Debt Problems$2imf 606 $aLeading indicators$2imf 606 $aReal interest rates$2imf 606 $aShort-term Capital Movements$2imf 607 $aTurkey$2imf 615 0$aCapital movements. 615 0$aFinancial crises. 615 7$aBalance of payments 615 7$aBanks and Banking 615 7$aCapital account crisis 615 7$aCurrency 615 7$aCurrent Account Adjustment 615 7$aDebts, External 615 7$aDuration Analysis 615 7$aEconomic & financial crises & disasters 615 7$aExchange rate arrangements 615 7$aExports and Imports 615 7$aExternal debt 615 7$aFinance 615 7$aFinancial Crises 615 7$aFinancial crises 615 7$aFinancial Risk Management 615 7$aFinancial services 615 7$aForeign Exchange 615 7$aForeign exchange 615 7$aIndex Numbers and Aggregation 615 7$aInterest rates 615 7$aInterest Rates: Determination, Term Structure, and Effects 615 7$aInternational economics 615 7$aInternational Lending and Debt Problems 615 7$aLeading indicators 615 7$aReal interest rates 615 7$aShort-term Capital Movements 676 $a332.152 700 $aMecagni$b Mauro$0453540 701 $aAtoyan$b Ruben$0855108 701 $aHofman$b David$01815880 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910960079903321 996 $aThe Persistence of Capital Account Crises$94372829 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02548nam 22005413 450 001 9911007389203321 005 20250604153213.0 010 $a9781523149605 010 $a1523149604 010 $a9789201014214 010 $a920101421X 035 $a(CKB)4100000011945547 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6627689 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6627689 035 $a(OCoLC)1255228824 035 $a(NjHacI)994100000011945547 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011945547 100 $a20250604d2021 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aIntegrated nuclear infrastructure review (INIR) $eten years of lessons learned 205 $a1st ed. 210 1$aVienna :$cIAEA,$d2021. 215 $a1 online resource (46 pages) 225 1 $aIAEA TECDOC series ;$v1947 311 08$a9789201015211 311 08$a9201015216 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 330 $a"The Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR) service, launched by the IAEA in 2009, was designed to support the evaluation of the infrastructure for the introduction of a nuclear power programme. An INIR mission is conducted upon Member States request and it enables countries to identify areas of infrastructure development where further attention is needed. The INIR mission also identifies good practices to be shared with other Member States. In addition, it provides an opportunity for the exchange of information between local experts and a team of IAEA and international experts on their experiences. This publication is intended to provide information and analysis on the main results of INIR missions and to share lessons learned. The publication also explains the recent developments in the INIR process and the mechanisms to support Member States after an INIR mission is conducted."--Publisher's description. 410 0$aIAEA-TECDOC ;$v1947. 606 $aNuclear energy$xGovernment policy 606 $aNuclear industry$xSafety measures 606 $aNuclear facilities$xManagement 615 0$aNuclear energy$xGovernment policy. 615 0$aNuclear industry$xSafety measures. 615 0$aNuclear facilities$xManagement. 676 $a333.792/4 712 02$aInternational Atomic Energy Agency, 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911007389203321 996 $aIntegrated nuclear infrastructure review (INIR)$94443030 997 $aUNINA
