Fifteen experts identified and discussed some of the most important issues raised by the current flood of biologic data. Topics explored included the importance of database curation, database integration and interoperability, consistency and standards in terminology, error prevention and correction, data provenance, ontology, the importance of maintaining privacy, data mining, and the need for more computer scientists with specialty training in bioinformatics. Although formal conclusions and recommendations will not come from this particular workshop, many insights may be gleaned about the future of this field, from the context of the discussions and presentations described here. 606 $aMedical informatics$vCongresses 606 $aBiotechnology industries$vCongresses 606 $aElectronic data processing$vCongresses 615 0$aMedical informatics 615 0$aBiotechnology industries 615 0$aElectronic data processing 676 $a610/.285 700 $aPool$b Robert$f1955-$0288454 701 $aEsnayra$b Joan$01851693 712 02$aNational Research Council (U.S.).$bBoard on Biology 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910971037103321 996 $aBioinformatics$94445923 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03655nam 2200745Ia 450 001 9910960004403321 005 20251116175548.0 010 $a0-429-23401-5 010 $a1-138-81084-3 010 $a0-203-50597-2 010 $a1-280-07061-7 010 $a1-134-41073-5 024 7 $a10.4324/9780203505977 035 $a(CKB)1000000000249781 035 $a(EBL)171457 035 $a(OCoLC)437250577 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000295773 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11224382 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000295773 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10319144 035 $a(PQKB)10747319 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC171457 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL171457 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10100985 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL7061 035 $a(OCoLC)1000432990 035 $a(OCoLC)50559670 035 $a(FINmELB)ELB150858 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000249781 100 $a20020826d2003 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aEuropean Union direct investment in China $echaracteristics, challenges and perspectives /$fDaniel van den Bulcke, Haiyan Zhang and Maria do Ceu Esteves 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aLondon ;$aNew York $cRoutledge$d2003 215 $a1 online resource (208 p.) 225 1 $aStudies in global competition 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a0-203-29749-0 311 08$a0-415-30377-X 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references (p.
