An original and challenging work, The Quest for Epic documents the development of Italian narrative from the chivalric romance at the end of the fifteenth century to the epic literature of the sixteenth century."--Jacket 606 $aItalian poetry$y16th century$xHistory and criticism 608 $aCriticism, interpretation, etc. 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aItalian poetry$xHistory and criticism. 676 $a851/.409353 700 $aZatti$b Sergio$f1950-$0165731 702 $aLooney$b Dennis, 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910780672503321 996 $aThe quest for epic$93725889 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04117nam 2200697 a 450 001 9910959399003321 005 20240516093945.0 010 $a9786613400598 010 $a9781283400596 010 $a1283400596 010 $a9783110258080 010 $a3110258080 024 7 $a10.1515/9783110258080 035 $a(CKB)2550000000079666 035 $a(EBL)827319 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000575727 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12208807 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000575727 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10553478 035 $a(PQKB)10091483 035 $a(DE-B1597)123974 035 $a(OCoLC)816881929 035 $a(OCoLC)853253491 035 $a(DE-B1597)9783110258080 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL827319 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10521674 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL340059 035 $a(OCoLC)898769514 035 $a(Perlego)654197 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC827319 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000000079666 100 $a20110926d2012 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aCivic priests $ecult personnel in Athens from the Hellenistic period to late antiquity /$fedited by Marietta Horster and Anja Klo?ckner 210 $aBerlin ;$aBoston $cDe Gruyter$dc2012 215 $a1 online resource (256 p.) 225 1 $aReligionsgeschichtliche Versuche und Vorarbeiten,$x0939-2580 ;$vBd. 58 300 $aChiefly proceedings of a workshop held in Mar. 2010 in Berlin, Germany. 311 08$a9783110258073 311 08$a3110258072 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and indexes. 327 $t Frontmatter -- $tContents -- $tIntroduction / $rHORSTER, MARIETTA / KLÖCKNER, ANJA -- $tPriests, priesthoods, cult personnel - traditional and new approaches / $rHORSTER, MARIETTA -- $tTradition - Repräsentation - Distinktion. Dedications and donations by cult personnel, and the honours that they earned, demonstrate their claim on the city's attention and their financial power. The cityscape itself came to be shaped, in varying intensities and forms, by statues in honour of cult personnel, set up by relatives, fellow citizens and other groups. This set of cultural records, analysed in the studies presented here, is central to understanding how the roles of priests and priestesses were constructed in social and political terms in post-classical Athens. The approaches are both historical and archaeological, and elucidate the religious functions that the cult personnel fulfilled for the city, and their perception, by themselves and by others, as citizens of the polis. 410 0$aReligionsgeschichtliche Versuche und Vorarbeiten ;$vBd. 58. 606 $aPriests$zGreece$vCongresses 607 $aGreece$xReligion$vCongresses 615 0$aPriests 676 $a292.6/109385 701 $aHorster$b Marietta$0260530 701 $aKlo?ckner$b Anja$01173608 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910959399003321 996 $aCivic priests$94370406 997 $aUNINA
