Function Theory considers dictionaries to be tools that are constructed for assisting specific users with punctual needs in specific usage situations, e.g. communicative-oriented situations and cognitive-oriented situations. The book's main focus is on defending the independent academic status of lexicography and its corollary: The process of designing, compiling and updating (specialised) online dictionaries needs a theoretical framework that addresses general and specific aspects. The former are common to all types of information tools, the latter are mainly dependent on the media for which the information tool is constructed and their specific target users. This books offers both aspects and moves from the highest level of abstraction to very detailed aspects of lexicographic work, e.g. how to convert an originally-conceived polyfunctional online dictionary into several monofunctional usage-based ones. The book illustrates that the theory and the methodology currently used by advocates of the Function Theory of Lexicography offers better results than other approaches and therefore makes its case for proposing the Function Theory for terminological/terminographical work. 410 0$aLexicographica.$pSeries maior ;$vVolume 146. 606 $aSublanguage$xLexicography 606 $aSublanguage$xLexicography$xData processing 606 $aTerminology as Topic$vDictionaries 610 $aSpecialised Lexicography, Online Dictionaries, Terminology, Terminography. 615 0$aSublanguage$xLexicography. 615 0$aSublanguage$xLexicography$xData processing. 615 0$aTerminology as Topic 676 $a413.0285 686 $aET 580$2rvk 700 $aFuertes Olivera$b Pedro Antonio$01613857 702 $aTarp$b Sven 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910829018003321 996 $aTheory and practice of specialised online dictionaries$93979302 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03184nam 2200649 a 450 001 9910958924303321 005 20251117080045.0 010 $a1-299-20098-2 010 $a0-7083-2354-5 035 $a(CKB)2670000000136595 035 $a(EBL)819802 035 $a(OCoLC)768119836 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000632188 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12233589 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000632188 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10608752 035 $a(PQKB)11305043 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC819802 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL819802 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10640662 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL451348 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4071253 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL4071253 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000136595 100 $a20130108d2011 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 04$aThe Arthur of the north $ethe Arthurian legend in the Norse and Rus'realms /$fedited by Marianne E. The versions of the Arthurian legend that were popular in the North were translations of mostly French literature. Although they were similar to their sources in many respects, the stories nonetheless underwent change in order to appeal to a culturally quite different audience in the North. 410 0$aArthurian literature in the Middle Ages ;$v5. 606 $aRomances, Old Norse$xHistory and criticism 606 $aArthurian romances$xHistory and criticism 606 $aCivilization, Medieval, in literature 615 0$aRomances, Old Norse$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aArthurian romances$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aCivilization, Medieval, in literature. 676 $a809.935109022 701 $aKalinke$b Marianne E$0928519 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910958924303321 996 $aThe Arthur of the north$94463230 997 $aUNINA
