Our main findings is that prior to capital account liberalization the causality runs from South African Rand to gold price volatility but the causality runs the other way around for the post-liberalization period. These findings suggest that gold price volatility plays a key role in explaining both the excessive exchange rate volatility and current disproportionate share of speculative (short-run) inflows that South Africa has been coping with since the opening up of its capital account. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2012/168 606 $aPrices 606 $aForeign exchange rates$zSouth Africa 606 $aBalance of payments$2imf 606 $aCapital account liberalization$2imf 606 $aCement$2imf 606 $aCeramics$2imf 606 $aCommodity Markets$2imf 606 $aCommodity price fluctuations$2imf 606 $aCurrency$2imf 606 $aCurrent Account Adjustment$2imf 606 $aExports and Imports$2imf 606 $aForeign Exchange$2imf 606 $aForeign exchange$2imf 606 $aGlass$2imf 606 $aGold prices$2imf 606 $aGold$2imf 606 $aInternational economics$2imf 606 $aInternational Investment$2imf 606 $aLong-term Capital Movements$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aMetals and Metal Products$2imf 606 $aPrices$2imf 606 $aReal effective exchange rates$2imf 606 $aReal exchange rates$2imf 606 $aShort-term Capital Movements$2imf 607 $aSouth Africa$2imf 615 0$aPrices. 615 0$aForeign exchange rates 615 7$aBalance of payments 615 7$aCapital account liberalization 615 7$aCement 615 7$aCeramics 615 7$aCommodity Markets 615 7$aCommodity price fluctuations 615 7$aCurrency 615 7$aCurrent Account Adjustment 615 7$aExports and Imports 615 7$aForeign Exchange 615 7$aForeign exchange 615 7$aGlass 615 7$aGold prices 615 7$aGold 615 7$aInternational economics 615 7$aInternational Investment 615 7$aLong-term Capital Movements 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aMetals and Metal Products 615 7$aPrices 615 7$aReal effective exchange rates 615 7$aReal exchange rates 615 7$aShort-term Capital Movements 676 $a332.152 700 $aDumitrescu$b Elena$01816438 701 $aArezki$b Rabah$01805364 701 $aFreytag$b Andreas$0148883 701 $aQuintyn$b Marc$0247373 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910957397603321 996 $aCommodity Prices and Exchange Rate Volatility$94372515 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01276nas 2200397 c 450 001 9910894702603321 005 20250513221210.0 035 $a(CKB)3790000000117852 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2636594-7 035 $a(OCoLC)767767520 035 $a(DE-101)1016939604 035 $a(EXLCZ)993790000000117852 100 $a20111109a20099999 |y | 101 0 $ager 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aBerufliche Aus- und Weiterbildung in Thüringen / Thüringer Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Technologie$eBerufsbildungsbericht ... mit den Ergebnissen des Jahres .. 210 31$aErfurt$cTMWAT$d2009- 215 $aOnline-Ressource 300 $aGesehen am 09.11.2011 517 $aBerufliche Aus- und Weiterbildung in Thüringen 517 3 $aBerufsbildungsbericht 608 $aZeitschrift$2gnd-content 676 $a330 676 $a370 676 $a310 712 02$aThu?ringen$bThu?ringer Ministerium fu?r Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Technologie$4isb 801 0$b0027 801 1$bDE-101 801 2$b9999 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a9910894702603321 996 $aBerufliche Aus- und Weiterbildung in Thu?ringen$94260286 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05381oam 2200673I 450 001 9910305548703321 005 20251116204724.0 010 $a0-86656-907-3 010 $a1-317-82396-6 010 $a1-315-82080-3 010 $a1-317-82397-4 024 7 $a10.4324/9781315820804 035 $a(CKB)2550000001250931 035 $a(EBL)1656267 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000083588 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12015376 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000083588 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10163553 035 $a(PQKB)11321997 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1656267 035 $a(OCoLC)897461067 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000001250931 100 $a20180706e19901974 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aSocial work in health care $ea handbook for practice /$fKay W.
