In studying mixed relationships, he finds that ethnicity, in the form of language and religion, is more important than race. Males and females were more likely to find themselves in coethnic relationships as they imagined the role that extended family would play. They talked about parental prejudices, language, religion, and other cultural clashes as major factors. There were many females, however, who did not follow this pattern because of perceptions of patriarchy. They avoided coethnic relationships because they wanted a partner who would think of them as an equal. 410 0$aNew Americans (LFB Scholarly Publishing LLC) 606 $aIntermarriage$zUnited States 606 $aInterethnic marriage$zUnited States 606 $aInterracial marriage$zUnited States 606 $aImmigrants$zUnited States 615 0$aIntermarriage 615 0$aInterethnic marriage 615 0$aInterracial marriage 615 0$aImmigrants 676 $a306.84/60869120973 700 $aMorgan$b Charlie V.$f1972-$01862432 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910956599303321 996 $aIntermarriage across race and ethnicity among immigrants$94468692 997 $aUNINA
