Living organisms must communicate with their environment if they are to survive, and institutions are no different. This monograph, the second of the Cassell Hospital series, explores this concept further. By reading it, ideas and thinking will be sparked off that will help other organisations promote their own culture of enquiry.- Kevin Healy, Director of the Cassel Hospital, from his Foreword. The contemporary Cassel Hospital was developed by Tom Main to create a self-exploratory institution. Main argued that, in order for the hospital to be therapeutic, it needs a "culture of enquiry". The individual and the institution might be seduced into ritualised working practices that no longer serve the needs of patients or staff. It is these "lapses from the continual enquiry" that are considered by this collection. It describes the mostly unconscious manoeuvres that inhibit reflection, and how the inappropriate use of psychoanalytic ideas can close off enquiry within a therapeutic community. 410 0$aCassel Hospital monograph series ;$vno. 2. 606 $aTherapeutic communities$zGreat Britain 606 $aMental health facilities$zGreat Britain 615 0$aTherapeutic communities 615 0$aMental health facilities 676 $a616.86/06 676 $a616.8917 700 $aDay$b Lesley$01507964 712 02$aCassel Hospital. 801 0$bFlBoTFG 801 1$bFlBoTFG 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910781273703321 996 $aReflective Enquiry into Therapeutic Institutions$93820006 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01113nas 2200373 c 450 001 9910894580803321 005 20260218110317.0 035 $a(CKB)3790000000115271 035 $a(OCoLC)780118187 035 $a(DE-101)1019797290 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2650995-7 035 $a(DE-599)2650995-7 035 $a(EXLCZ)993790000000115271 100 $a20120215b20032015 |y | 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$a˜Theœ international journal of co-operative management$eIJCM$fUniversity of Leicester, School of Management 210 31$aHalifax, Nova Scotia$cSaint Mary?s University$d2003-2015 210 21$aLeicester$cNew Harmony Press$dfru?her 300 $aGesehen am 02.11.2019 311 08$a1741-4814 517 3 $aIJCM 608 $aZeitschrift$2gnd-content 676 $a330 801 0$b0355 801 1$bDE-101 801 2$b9001 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a9910894580803321 996 $aInternational journal of co-operative management$94256183 997 $aUNINA
