It takes the survivor systematically through understanding the abuses and how his or her symptoms may be consequences of these abuses, and gives practical advice regarding how a survivor can achieve stability and manage the life issues with which he or she may have difficulty. The book also teaches the survivor how to work with his or her complex personality system and with the traumatic memories, to heal the wounds created by the abuse. A unique feature of this book is that it addresses the reader as if he or she is dissociative, and directs some information and exercises towards the internal leaders of the personality system, teaching them how to build a cooperative and healing inner community within which information is shared, each part's needs are met, and traumatic memories can be worked through successfully. 606 $aChild abuse 606 $aRitual abuse 615 0$aChild abuse. 615 0$aRitual abuse. 676 $a362.76 700 $aMiller$b Alison$01879465 801 0$bFlBoTFG 801 1$bFlBoTFG 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910956197803321 996 $aBecoming yourself$94492679 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02020nas 2200517-a 450 001 9910892814203321 005 20260218113021.0 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2060796-9 035 $a(CKB)963018085721 035 $a(CONSER)---81643818- 035 $a(DE-599)2060796-9 035 $a(EXLCZ)99963018085721 100 $a20780317b19701993 --- a 101 0 $aeng 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aProceedings ... annual Conference of the American Council on Consumer Interests 210 $aColumbia, Mo. $cThe Council$d-©1993 215 $a1 online resource 300 $aEach vol. has also a distinctive title. 311 08$aPrint version: Proceedings ... annual Conference of the American Council on Consumer Interests. 0275-1356 (DLC) 81643818 (OCoLC)3727187 531 $aCONSUMER INTERESTS ANNUAL 531 0 $aProc. annu. conf.
