This psychological phenomenon, labeled trauma bonding, has been explained as a product of interpersonal trauma. Despite repeated observations of trauma bonding in victims of interpersonal crimes, little is known about its formation or persistence, and even less is known about positive resolution in survivors. The scope of the proposal book includes a review of the existing theoretical conceptualizations and research findings on trauma bonding in relation to various forms of interpersonal crimes including human trafficking, intimate partner violence, child sexual abuse, cults, kidnapping, gangs, and terrorism. The proposed book would also highlight the complexities of intervention and treatment for survivors and clinicians. Each chapter will feature voices of survivors and insights from practitioners on the frontlines to provide a blending of personal reality with the well-researched facts. Critical concerns regarding methodological weaknesses of previous research focused on trauma bonding will be addressed and several potential avenues for integrated theory and research recommended. Lastly, implications for policy related to trauma bonding within the field of interpersonal violence will be explored"--$cProvided by publisher. 410 0$aPsycho-criminology of crime, mental health, and the law. 606 $aPsychic trauma 606 $aInterpersonal relations$xPsychological aspects 606 $aInterpersonal relations$xPsychic aspects 606 $aViolent crimes$xPsychological aspects 606 $aPsychological abuse 606 $aTraumatisme psychique 606 $aRelations humaines$xAspect psychique 606 $aCrimes violents$xAspect psychologique 606 $aViolence psychologique 615 0$aPsychic trauma. 615 0$aInterpersonal relations$xPsychological aspects. 615 0$aInterpersonal relations$xPsychic aspects. 615 0$aViolent crimes$xPsychological aspects. 615 0$aPsychological abuse. 615 6$aTraumatisme psychique. 615 6$aRelations humaines$xAspect psychique. 615 6$aCrimes violents$xAspect psychologique. 615 6$aViolence psychologique. 676 $a616.85/21 700 $aReid$b Joan A.$f1961-$01716181 701 $aChan$b Heng Choon (Oliver)$0788122 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910877863003321 996 $aTrauma bonding and interpersonal crimes$94267915 997 $aUNINA
