Conclusions -- Bibliography. 330 $aThis book derives from observations of the contemporary built environment and its contradictions. The suburban retail spaces, specifically the suburban shopping mall, and the changes caused by them within urban organisms are the object of the investigation synthesized in the volume. The topic is very crucial for the development of the contemporary city. It constitutes at the same time a problem (large commercial structures' spread is 'destroying' traditional commercial urban fabrics) and an opportunity (shopping malls are the most vital parts of the new suburbs and can play the role of community nucleus in urban and suburban areas). Furthermore, the spread of e-commerce forces these structures to functional and spatial transformations that brings also a new relationship with the city. The analytical reading, supplemented by generative and design projections, is carried out by using the conceptual and methodological tools of urban morphology, specifically those of the typological processual approach. From this specific point of view, the suburban shopping mall is read as an organism (a complex system characterized by mutual solidarity and interdependence among component elements) in itself, and as a sub-organisms belonging to the largest territorial organism. The book is intended to offer, to operators, scholars, researchers, professionals and students, a reading and design method, to interpret an important aspect of the contemporary built environment by analyzing the suburban commercial space case. It offers at the same time a model applicable to other specific not-commercial cases, to defining paths for further research and design developments. 410 0$aSpringerBriefs in Geography,$x2211-4165 606 $aSuburbs$xSocial aspects 606 $aRegional/Spatial Science 606 $aShopping malls$xSocial aspects 615 0$aSuburbs$xSocial aspects. 615 0$aRegional/Spatial Science. 615 0$aShopping malls$xSocial aspects. 676 $a381.11 700 $aBuongiorno$b Vincenzo$0871972 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bUtOrBLW 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910424632703321 996 $aSuburban retail spaces$91946857 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01885oas 2200721 a 450 001 9910869896403321 005 20260127110428.0 011 $a1758-8537 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2094427-5 035 $a(OCoLC)60628731 035 $a(CONSER) 2006249105 035 $a(CKB)111035580863012 035 $a(DE-599)2094427-5 035 $a(EXLCZ)99111035580863012 100 $a20050614a20019999 sy a 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aStrategic HR review 210 $aChicago, Ill. $cMelcrum Pub 210 3 $aBingley $cEmerald Group Publishing 311 08$a1475-4398 517 1 $aStrategic human resources review 606 $aPersonnel management$vPeriodicals 606 $aPublications pe?riodiques$2eclas 606 $aRessources humaines$2eclas 606 $aGestion du personnel$2eclas 606 $aPersonnel management$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst01058797 606 $aPersonnel$xDirection$vPe?riodiques 608 $aPeriodicals.$2fast 615 0$aPersonnel management 615 7$aPublications pe?riodiques. 615 7$aRessources humaines. 615 7$aGestion du personnel. 615 7$aPersonnel management. 615 6$aPersonnel$xDirection 676 $a658.305 712 02$aEmerald Group Publishing 801 0$bOCLCS 801 1$bOCLCS 801 2$bZYU 801 2$bHEBIS 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bDLC 801 2$bOCLCF 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bDLC 801 2$bLGG 801 2$bUKMGB 801 2$bBEDGE 801 2$bUAB 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bILACE 801 2$bOCLCQ 801 2$bIOY 801 2$bOCLCL 801 2$bDKU 906 $aJOURNAL 912 $a9910869896403321 996 $aStrategic HR review$92406588 997 $aUNINA
