The Two Model Properties 330 3 $aThis paper assesses the macroeconomic implications of scaling up aid for Benin in line with the Gleneagles commitment to double aid to poor countries over the next three years to reach $85 per capita by 2010 and keep it at that level thereafter. The analysis suggests that the additional aid inflows can be accommodated under Fund-supported programs without major disruptions to macroeconomic stability, provided the inflows are highly concessional and used effectively. There are, however, significant risks that the impact on growth and poverty reduction of the additional aid inflows could fall short of expectations, given Benin's limited absorptive and administrative capacity. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2009/115 606 $aEconomic assistance$zBenin 606 $aExports and Imports$2imf 606 $aForeign Exchange$2imf 606 $aPublic Finance$2imf 606 $aInternational Investment$2imf 606 $aLong-term Capital Movements$2imf 606 $aForeign Aid$2imf 606 $aNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: Infrastructures$2imf 606 $aOther Public Investment and Capital Stock$2imf 606 $aNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: General$2imf 606 $aInternational economics$2imf 606 $aCurrency$2imf 606 $aForeign exchange$2imf 606 $aPublic finance & taxation$2imf 606 $aReal exchange rates$2imf 606 $aAbsorptive capacity$2imf 606 $aForeign aid$2imf 606 $aPublic investment spending$2imf 606 $aExpenditure$2imf 606 $aCapital movements$2imf 606 $aInternational relief$2imf 606 $aPublic investments$2imf 606 $aExpenditures, Public$2imf 607 $aBenin$xEconomic conditions 607 $aBenin$2imf 615 0$aEconomic assistance 615 7$aExports and Imports 615 7$aForeign Exchange 615 7$aPublic Finance 615 7$aInternational Investment 615 7$aLong-term Capital Movements 615 7$aForeign Aid 615 7$aNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: Infrastructures 615 7$aOther Public Investment and Capital Stock 615 7$aNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: General 615 7$aInternational economics 615 7$aCurrency 615 7$aForeign exchange 615 7$aPublic finance & taxation 615 7$aReal exchange rates 615 7$aAbsorptive capacity 615 7$aForeign aid 615 7$aPublic investment spending 615 7$aExpenditure 615 7$aCapital movements 615 7$aInternational relief 615 7$aPublic investments 615 7$aExpenditures, Public 676 $a338.96 700 $aMongardini$b Joannes$01619193 701 $aSamaké$b Issouf$01136558 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund. 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910828521903321 996 $aThe Macroeconomics of Scaling Up Aid$93995299 997 $aUNINA
