Sub-Saharan Africa: Financial Soundess Indicators, 2006-10 330 3 $aSub-Saharan Africa continues to record strong economic growth, despite the weaker global economic environment. Regional output rose by 5 percent in 2011, with growth set to increase slightly in 2012, helped by still-strong commodity prices, new resource exploitation, and the improved domestic conditions that have underpinned several years of solid trend growth in the region's low-income countries. But there is variation in performance across the region, with output in middle-income countries tracking more closely the global slowdown and with some sub-regions adversely affected, at least temporarily, by drought. Threats to the outlook include the risk of intensified financial stresses in the euro area spilling over into a further slowing of the global economy and the possibility of an oil price surge triggered by rising geopolitical tensions. 410 0$aRegional Economic Outlook 606 $aEconomic forecasting$zAfrica, Sub-Saharan 606 $aEconomic development$zAfrica, Sub-Saharan 606 $aBanks and Banking$2imf 606 $aForeign Exchange$2imf 606 $aInflation$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aNatural Resources$2imf 606 $aExports and Imports$2imf 606 $aBanks$2imf 606 $aDepository Institutions$2imf 606 $aMicro Finance Institutions$2imf 606 $aMortgages$2imf 606 $aAgricultural and Natural Resource Economics$2imf 606 $aEnvironmental and Ecological Economics: General$2imf 606 $aPrice Level$2imf 606 $aDeflation$2imf 606 $aTrade: General$2imf 606 $aMonetary Policy, Central Banking, and the Supply of Money and Credit: General$2imf 606 $aBanking$2imf 606 $aCurrency$2imf 606 $aForeign exchange$2imf 606 $aEnvironmental management$2imf 606 $aInternational economics$2imf 606 $aMonetary economics$2imf 606 $aExchange rates$2imf 606 $aNatural resources$2imf 606 $aExports$2imf 606 $aEnvironment$2imf 606 $aPrices$2imf 606 $aCommercial banks$2imf 606 $aFinancial institutions$2imf 606 $aCredit$2imf 606 $aMoney$2imf 606 $aInternational trade$2imf 606 $aBanks and banking$2imf 607 $aAfrica, Sub-Saharan$xEconomic conditions$y1960- 607 $aSouth Africa$2imf 615 0$aEconomic forecasting 615 0$aEconomic development 615 7$aBanks and Banking 615 7$aForeign Exchange 615 7$aInflation 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aNatural Resources 615 7$aExports and Imports 615 7$aBanks 615 7$aDepository Institutions 615 7$aMicro Finance Institutions 615 7$aMortgages 615 7$aAgricultural and Natural Resource Economics 615 7$aEnvironmental and Ecological Economics: General 615 7$aPrice Level 615 7$aDeflation 615 7$aTrade: General 615 7$aMonetary Policy, Central Banking, and the Supply of Money and Credit: General 615 7$aBanking 615 7$aCurrency 615 7$aForeign exchange 615 7$aEnvironmental management 615 7$aInternational economics 615 7$aMonetary economics 615 7$aExchange rates 615 7$aNatural resources 615 7$aExports 615 7$aEnvironment 615 7$aPrices 615 7$aCommercial banks 615 7$aFinancial institutions 615 7$aCredit 615 7$aMoney 615 7$aInternational trade 615 7$aBanks and banking 676 $a330.95 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund. 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910827917903321 996 $aRegional Economic Outlook, April 2012, Sub-Saharan Africa$94014214 997 $aUNINA
