Based on extensive analysis of State practice, the relevant legal instruments, international case law and literature, the book critically examines the concept of responses to the breach of a treaty, their legal regime and their operation in practice. It focuses on suspension of the operation of a treaty and countermeasures, challenging the prevailing view that there is a clear distinction between them, and argues that the former has been effectively superseded by the latter. 410 0$aQueen Mary Studies in International Law ;$v44. 606 $aTreaties 606 $aInternational obligations 606 $aGovernment liability (International law) 615 0$aTreaties. 615 0$aInternational obligations. 615 0$aGovernment liability (International law) 676 $a341.1 700 $aXiouri$b Maria$01634033 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910827315703321 996 $aThe breach of a treaty$93974078 997 $aUNINA
