A Summary. 330 $a"This new book provides a comprehensive overview of the topic of patent claim interpretation in the UK and in three other select jurisdictions. It explores territory that has great commercial significance and yet is severely under-explored in existing works. The twin issues of the function of patent law and interpretational analysis of the scope of protection have been recently reconsidered by the House of Lords, and this work not only reviews their recent cases but also looks at how the US, German and Japanese patent systems deal with the complex problems presented in this area. The book provides a balanced approach between practical, academic and theoretical approaches to claim interpretation. In doing so it provides more than a simple case analysis, as it enables the reader to consider the shape that the law should take rather than simply recounting the current position. Its novelty therefore lies in bringing the theoretical elements of the discussion together with the view of the profession charged with creating the patent documentation in the first place and then viewing this in the light of the detailed comparative studies. It is only by considering all of these elements that we begin to see a pathway for the development of the law in this area. This is a work that will be an important source of reference for academics and practitioners working in the field of patent law."--Bloomsbury Publishing. 606 $aPatent laws and legislation$zGreat Britain 606 $aPatent laws and legislation 606 $2Intellectual property law 615 0$aPatent laws and legislation 615 0$aPatent laws and legislation. 676 $a346.410486 700 $aFisher$b Matthew$f1976-$01495826 801 0$bUtOrBLW 801 1$bUtOrBLW 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910784776103321 996 $aFundamentals of patent law$93720151 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04641nam 2200541 450 001 9910827127303321 005 20240215182902.0 010 $a1-78570-206-8 010 $a1-78570-204-1 035 $a(CKB)3710000000973343 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL4770586 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr11318409 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL979262 035 $a(OCoLC)942885471 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4770586 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000973343 100 $a20170104h20162016 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 00$aBeyond thalassocracies $eunderstanding processes of minoanisation and mycenaeanisation in the Aegean /$fedited by Evi Gorogianni, Peter Pavu?k and Luca Girella 210 1$aOxford, [England] ;$aPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania :$cOxbow Books,$d2016. 210 4$dİ2016 215 $a1 online resource (235 pages) $cillustrations, maps 311 $a1-78570-203-3 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and indexes. 327 $aIntroduction: Methodological considerations / Luca Girella, Evi Gorogianni and Peter Pavu?k -- The nature of Minoan and Mycenaean involvement in the northeastern Aegean / Luca Girella and Peter Pavu?k -- Minoanisation, Mycenaeanisation, and mobility : a view from southwest Anatolia / Jana Mokris?ova? -- Discerning acculturation at Miletus : Minoanisation and Mycenaeanisation / Amy Raymond, Ivonne Kaiser, Laura-Concetta Rizzotto and Julien Zurbach -- Cultural entanglements on Kos during the late Bronze Age : a comparative analysis of Minoanisation and Mycenaeanisation at the "Serraglio," Eleona, and Langada / Salvatore Vitale -- Melos in the middle : Minoanisation and Mycenaeanisation at late Bronze Age Phylakopi / Jason W. The 14 chapters compare and contrast various aspects of the phenomena of Minoanisation and Mycenaeanisation, both of which share the basic underlying defining feature of material culture change in communities around the Aegean. This change was driven by trends manifesting themselves in the dominant palatial communities of each period of the Bronze Age. Over the past decade, our understanding of how these processes developed and functioned has changed considerably. Whereas current discussions on Minoanisation have already been informed by more recent theoretical trends, especially in material culture studies and post-colonial theory, the process of Mycenaeanisation is still very much conceptualised along traditional lines of explanation. Since these phenomena occurred in chronological sequence, it makes sense that any reappraisal of their nature and significance should target those regions of the Aegean basin that were affected by both processes, highlighting their similarities and differences. Thus, in the present volume we focus on the southern and eastern Aegean, in particular the Cyclades, Dodecanese, and the north-eastern Aegean islands"--From publisher's website. 606 $aCivilization, Aegean 606 $aMinoans 606 $aCivilization, Mycenaean 607 $aAegean Sea Region$xAntiquities 615 0$aCivilization, Aegean. 615 0$aMinoans. 615 0$aCivilization, Mycenaean. 676 $a939/.101 702 $aGorogianni$b Evi 702 $aPavu?k$b Peter 702 $aGirella$b Luca 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910827127303321 996 $aBeyond thalassocracies$93962071 997 $aUNINA
