It is hard to come away from this review with much confidence in the strength of monetary transmission in such countries. We distinguish between the "facts on the ground" and "methodological deficiencies" interpretations of the absence of evidence for strong monetary transmission. We suspect that "facts on the ground" are an important part of the story. If this conjecture is correct, the stabilization challenge in developing countries is acute indeed, and identifying the means of enhancing the effectiveness of monetary policy in such countries is an important challenge. 410 0$aIMF working paper ;$v12/143. 606 $aMonetary policy$zDeveloping countries 606 $aFinance$zDeveloping countries 615 0$aMonetary policy 615 0$aFinance 676 $a332.1/52 700 $aMishra$b Prachi$f1975-$01090676 701 $aMontiel$b Peter$0126614 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910823220103321 996 $aHow effective is monetary transmission in low-income countries$94194702 997 $aUNINA
