In recent years British political discourse has been filled with these slogans, as politicians claim to speak on behalf of families who are in work, but struggling to get by. This book allows us to hear from some of these families directly. At a time when the impact of austerity is more relevant than ever, Just Managing? cuts through the debates and sloganeering to give some of the real people behind the headlines and statistics a chance to tell their stories. It tracks the lives of thirty working families in Liverpool over one year, as they struggle to manage on incomes at or around the National Minimum Wage. Their accounts are placed within the economic and political context that has shaped their experiences and that of millions of other working families across the country. This book is required reading for anyone seeking to understand what life is like at the sharp end of ?austerity Britain'. 606 $aIncome distribution$zGreat Britain 607 $aGreat Britain$xSocial conditions$y21st century 610 $aNational Minimun Wage 610 $alow income 610 $aLiverpool 610 $aausterity 610 $aBritain 610 $aBritish politics 610 $aStatistics 615 0$aIncome distribution 676 $a339.20941 700 $aO'Brien$b Mark$f1973-$0891385 702 $aKyprianou$b Paul 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bUkMaJRU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910213849103321 996 $aJust managing$91991020 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01964nam 2200517I 450 001 9910705233003321 005 20140409162345.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000002449038 035 $a(OCoLC)876185488 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002449038 100 $a20140409d1983 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aEnvironmental effects on the dynamics and control of an orbiting large flexible antenna system /$fby R. Regeldenkens in der Frühen Neuzeit. Jahrhundert manifestiert. 410 0$aTransformationen der Antike ;$vBand 46. 606 $aFrench poetry$y17th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $aItalian poetry$y17th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $3(DE-601)717328082$3(DE-588)102289935X$aAdaption$gLiteratur$2gnd 606 $aLITERARY CRITICISM / Ancient & Classical$2bisacsh 607 $aItaly$xHistory 610 $aTransformation. 610 $acomic poetry. 610 $aepic poetry. 610 $atravesty. 615 0$aFrench poetry$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aItalian poetry$xHistory and criticism. 615 7$aAdaption 615 7$aLITERARY CRITICISM / Ancient & Classical. 676 $a914.5039 686 $aFX 178105$2rvk 700 $aScho?pe$b Kai$01146899 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910821872803321 996 $aDisjunktion und Diskrepanz$92687888 997 $aUNINA
