Basran community and the emergence of Islamic jurisprudence in Iraq. It is a unique document because it attests to the existence of a scholarly link between Sunn?s and Ib???s during the early development of Islamic law. The fact that the legal responsa and traditions of Qat?da born Di??ma al-Sad?s? (60/680-117/735) are part of an Ib??? collection, in which the traditions of Ib??? Imam J?bir born Zayd (d. 93/ 711) have been transmitted through ?Amr born Harim and ?Amr born D?n?r, proves that the Ib??? lawyers of the first generations considered Qat?da to be a faithful upholder of J?bir's doctrine. Given the lack of material available for J?bir , instructions must have been given to collect whatever was transmitted through Qat?da. Qat?da's legal responsa must have corresponded to those of the first Ib??? authorities, which explains why the collator of the Aqw?l Qat?da (probably Ab? Gh?nim al-Khur?s?n?) included them in an Ib??? manuscript. The present volume sheds light on the relationship between the Aqw?l Qat?da and Ib??? authorities such as al-Rab?, Ab? Ubayda, and J?bir. 410 0$aIslamic history and civilization ;$v142. 606 $aIslamic law$zIraq$zBas?rah$xHistory 606 $aIbadites$xHistory 615 0$aIslamic law$xHistory. 615 0$aIbadites$xHistory. 676 $a349.5675 700 $aAl-Salimi$b Abdulrahman$0520817 701 2$aQata?dah ibn Di?a?mah$f680-735.$01654723 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910821448703321 996 $aEarly Islamic law in Basra in the 2nd$94006740 997 $aUNINA
