The 2006/07 (July-June) fiscal strategy focused on reducing domestic debt. In the third Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF) review, the end-June target for domestic debt repayments was increased substantially. Domestic borrowing exceeded the adjusted target at end-December 2006 by MK 4.1 billion (0.9 percent of GDP). The government partially redressed this overrun by curtailing discretionary spending in the fourth quarter, as the scale of the end-December overrun became clear. 410 0$aIMF Staff Country Reports; Country Report ;$vNo. 2008/003 606 $aPoverty$xGovernment policy$zMalawi 606 $aBanks and Banking$2imf 606 $aExports and Imports$2imf 606 $aFinancial Risk Management$2imf 606 $aPublic Finance$2imf 606 $aStatistics$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aInternational Lending and Debt Problems$2imf 606 $aDebt$2imf 606 $aDebt Management$2imf 606 $aSovereign Debt$2imf 606 $aCurrent Account Adjustment$2imf 606 $aShort-term Capital Movements$2imf 606 $aNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: General$2imf 606 $aBanks$2imf 606 $aDepository Institutions$2imf 606 $aMicro Finance Institutions$2imf 606 $aMortgages$2imf 606 $aGeneral Aggregative Models: General$2imf 606 $aInternational economics$2imf 606 $aPublic finance & taxation$2imf 606 $aFinance$2imf 606 $aBanking$2imf 606 $aEconometrics & economic statistics$2imf 606 $aExternal debt$2imf 606 $aDebt relief$2imf 606 $aDomestic debt$2imf 606 $aPublic debt$2imf 606 $aBalance of payments assistance$2imf 606 $aAsset and liability management$2imf 606 $aPublic financial management (PFM)$2imf 606 $aDebts, External$2imf 606 $aDebts, Public$2imf 606 $aBalance of payments$2imf 606 $aFinance, Public$2imf 606 $aBanks and banking$2imf 606 $aExpenditures, Public$2imf 607 $aMalawi$xEconomic conditions 607 $aMalawi$2imf 615 0$aPoverty$xGovernment policy 615 7$aBanks and Banking 615 7$aExports and Imports 615 7$aFinancial Risk Management 615 7$aPublic Finance 615 7$aStatistics 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aInternational Lending and Debt Problems 615 7$aDebt 615 7$aDebt Management 615 7$aSovereign Debt 615 7$aCurrent Account Adjustment 615 7$aShort-term Capital Movements 615 7$aNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: General 615 7$aBanks 615 7$aDepository Institutions 615 7$aMicro Finance Institutions 615 7$aMortgages 615 7$aGeneral Aggregative Models: General 615 7$aInternational economics 615 7$aPublic finance & taxation 615 7$aFinance 615 7$aBanking 615 7$aEconometrics & economic statistics 615 7$aExternal debt 615 7$aDebt relief 615 7$aDomestic debt 615 7$aPublic debt 615 7$aBalance of payments assistance 615 7$aAsset and liability management 615 7$aPublic financial management (PFM) 615 7$aDebts, External 615 7$aDebts, Public 615 7$aBalance of payments 615 7$aFinance, Public 615 7$aBanks and banking 615 7$aExpenditures, Public 676 $a332.152 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910821272503321 996 $aMalawi$9844500 997 $aUNINA
