What images of Maori society and culture did European artists create for their distant audiences? What preconceptions and aesthetic models lay behind early European depictions of Maori? These are some of the questions explored by art historian Leonard Bell in this major study of the relationship between the visual representation of Maori and the ideology of colonialism. He explores the complex and unbalanced cultural interchange between Europeans and Maori in nineteenth-century New Zealand, in addition to showing how the great range and 606 $aMa?ori (New Zealand people) in art 606 $aArt, European$y19th century 606 $aArt, European$y20th century 607 $aNew Zealand$xIn art 615 0$aMa?ori (New Zealand people) in art. 615 0$aArt, European 615 0$aArt, European 676 $a760/.0449993004994 700 $aBell$b Leonard$f1945-$01481842 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910820987603321 996 $aColonial constructs$94050976 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03517nam 22006255 450 001 9910299669603321 005 20200629203727.0 010 $a3-319-11316-X 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-11316-6 035 $a(CKB)3710000000262081 035 $a(EBL)1967653 035 $a(OCoLC)894352724 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001372477 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11831422 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001372477 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11304516 035 $a(PQKB)10557757 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-11316-6 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1967653 035 $a(PPN)18209703X 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000262081 100 $a20141017d2015 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aFuzzy Control Systems with Time-Delay and Stochastic Perturbation $eAnalysis and Synthesis /$fby Ligang Wu, Xiaojie Su, Peng Shi 205 $a1st ed. 2015. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2015. 215 $a1 online resource (357 p.) 225 1 $aStudies in Systems, Decision and Control,$x2198-4182 ;$v12 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a3-319-11315-1 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 327 $aAnalysis and Synthesis of T-S Fuzzy Time-Delay Systems -- Analysis and Synthesis of T-S Fuzzy Stochastic Systems -- Fuzzy Control Applications. 330 $aThis book presents up-to-date research developments and novel methodologies on fuzzy control systems. It presents solutions to a series of problems with new approaches for the analysis and synthesis of fuzzy time-delay systems and fuzzy stochastic systems, including stability analysis and stabilization, dynamic output feedback control, robust filter design, and model approximation. A set of newly developed techniques such as fuzzy Lyapunov function approach, delay-partitioning, reciprocally convex, cone complementary linearization approach are presented. Fuzzy Control Systems with Time-Delay and Stochastic Perturbation: Analysis and Synthesis is a comprehensive reference for researcher and practitioners working in control engineering, system sciences and applied mathematics, and is also a useful source of information for senior undergraduates and graduates in these areas. The readers will benefit from some new concepts, new models and new methodologies with practical significance in control engineering and signal processing.    . 410 0$aStudies in Systems, Decision and Control,$x2198-4182 ;$v12 606 $aComputational intelligence 606 $aArtificial intelligence 606 $aComputational Intelligence$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T11014 606 $aArtificial Intelligence$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I21000 615 0$aComputational intelligence. 615 0$aArtificial intelligence. 615 14$aComputational Intelligence. 615 24$aArtificial Intelligence. 676 $a006.3 676 $a620 700 $aWu$b Ligang$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0720603 702 $aSu$b Xiaojie$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aShi$b Peng$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910299669603321 996 $aFuzzy Control Systems with Time-Delay and Stochastic Perturbation$92512383 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04458nam 22006735 450 001 9910863184903321 005 20250610110508.0 010 $a9783030544669 010 $a3030544664 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-030-54466-9 035 $a(CKB)4100000011610071 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6408034 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-030-54466-9 035 $a(Perlego)3480684 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC29090564 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011610071 100 $a20201124d2020 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aArgentinean Literary Orientalism $eFrom Esteban Echeverría to Roberto Arlt /$fby Axel Gasquet 205 $a1st ed. 2020. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Palgrave Macmillan,$d2020. 215 $a1 online resource (XIV, 304 p. 1 illus.) 225 1 $aHistorical and Cultural Interconnections between Latin America and Asia,$x2946-4285 311 08$a9783030544652 311 08$a3030544656 327 $a1 Introduction -- 2 European Archetypes and the Debate about the Eastern Question -- Part I: The East in the Pampa -- 3 The Romantic import of Esteban Echeverría and Juan B. Alberdi, Domingo F. Sarmiento, Lucio V. Mansilla, Pastor S. Obligado, Eduardo F. Wilde, Leopoldo Lugones, and Roberto Arlt. The East, which has always fascinated intellectuals and artists from the Americas, inspired the creation of imaginary elements for both aesthetic and political purposes, from the depiction of purportedly despotic rulers to a genuine admiration for Eastern history and millennial cultures. These writers appropriated the East either through their travels or by reading chronicles, integrating along the way images that would end up being universalized by the Argentinean dichotomy between civilization and barbarism, all the while assigning the negative stereotypes of the exotic East to the Pampa region. With time, the exoticism of the Eastern world would shed its geopolitical meaning andwas ultimately integrated into the national literature, thus adding new elements into the Argentinean imaginary.
