It shows that for many developing countries, actual preferential access is less generous than it appears because of low product coverage or complex rules of origin. Thus lowering tariffs under the multilateral system is likely to lead to a net increase in market access for many developing countries, with gains in market access offsetting losses from preference erosion. Furthermore, comparing various tariff-cutting proposals, the research shows that the largest gains in market access are generated by higher tariff cuts in agriculture. 410 0$aIMF working paper ;$vWP/06/10. 606 $aTariff preferences$zDeveloping countries$xEconometric models 606 $aExports$zDeveloping countries$xEconometric models 615 0$aTariff preferences$xEconometric models. 615 0$aExports$xEconometric models. 700 $aAmiti$b Mary$01662504 701 $aRomalis$b John$01662503 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund.$bResearch Dept. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910819868303321 996 $aWill the Doha Round Lead to Preference Erosion$94019247 997 $aUNINA
