Description and Analysis 330 3 $aThis report evaluates the level of implementation of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendations for Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) in Panama. The findings reveal that Panama is vulnerable to money laundering from a number of sources, including drug trafficking and other predicate crimes committed abroad, such as fraud and financial and tax crimes. The AML Law covers most of the core financial sectors but does not fully apply to the insurance sector and does not extend to a number of other financial activities as required under the FATF standard. Competent authorities, including law enforcement and the Financial Intelligence Unit, do not have timely access to information on legal persons and arrangements as required under the FATF standard. 410 0$aIMF Staff Country Reports; Country Report ;$vNo. 2014/054 606 $aMoney laundering$zPanama$xPrevention 606 $aTerrorism$zPanama$xFinance$xPrevention 606 $aBanks and Banking$2imf 606 $aPublic Finance$2imf 606 $aCriminology$2imf 606 $aIndustries: Financial Services$2imf 606 $aIllegal Behavior and the Enforcement of Law$2imf 606 $aTaxation, Subsidies, and Revenue: General$2imf 606 $aBanks$2imf 606 $aDepository Institutions$2imf 606 $aMicro Finance Institutions$2imf 606 $aMortgages$2imf 606 $aPension Funds$2imf 606 $aNon-bank Financial Institutions$2imf 606 $aFinancial Instruments$2imf 606 $aInstitutional Investors$2imf 606 $aCorporate crime$2imf 606 $awhite-collar crime$2imf 606 $aPublic finance & taxation$2imf 606 $aBanking$2imf 606 $aFinance$2imf 606 $aAnti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT)$2imf 606 $aLegal support in revenue administration$2imf 606 $aMoney laundering$2imf 606 $aTerrorism financing$2imf 606 $aCrime$2imf 606 $aRevenue administration$2imf 606 $aInsurance companies$2imf 606 $aFinancial institutions$2imf 606 $aRevenue$2imf 606 $aBanks and banking$2imf 607 $aPanama$2imf 615 0$aMoney laundering$xPrevention. 615 0$aTerrorism$xFinance$xPrevention. 615 7$aBanks and Banking 615 7$aPublic Finance 615 7$aCriminology 615 7$aIndustries: Financial Services 615 7$aIllegal Behavior and the Enforcement of Law 615 7$aTaxation, Subsidies, and Revenue: General 615 7$aBanks 615 7$aDepository Institutions 615 7$aMicro Finance Institutions 615 7$aMortgages 615 7$aPension Funds 615 7$aNon-bank Financial Institutions 615 7$aFinancial Instruments 615 7$aInstitutional Investors 615 7$aCorporate crime 615 7$awhite-collar crime 615 7$aPublic finance & taxation 615 7$aBanking 615 7$aFinance 615 7$aAnti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) 615 7$aLegal support in revenue administration 615 7$aMoney laundering 615 7$aTerrorism financing 615 7$aCrime 615 7$aRevenue administration 615 7$aInsurance companies 615 7$aFinancial institutions 615 7$aRevenue 615 7$aBanks and banking 676 $a364.168097287 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910819812903321 996 $aPanama$91187121 997 $aUNINA
