In this volume are brought together diverse and interesting instances of his polymathic career, none before republished and some previously unpublished.Neatly framing Mill?s writing career are his editorial prefaces and extensive notes to Jeremy Bentham;s Rationale of Judicial Evidence (1827) and James Mill?s Analysis of the Phenomena of the Human Mind (1869). Both demonstrate his extraordinary powers of mind and diligence as well as his fealty. His constant avocation, field botany, is shown in his botanical writings, which open a window on an almost unknown activity that sustained and delighted him. Brief comments on two medical works hint at another interest. Two articles of which he was co-author demonstrate his work as editor of the London and Westminster Review, and a calendar of his contributions to the Political Economy Club provides yet another glimpse into his chosen activities and concerns. Published for the first time are Mill?s English and French wills, providing still further biographical detail. 410 0$aCollected Works of John Stuart Mill;$vXXXI 606 $aPhilosophy of mind 606 $aBotany$vMiscellanea 615 0$aPhilosophy of mind. 615 0$aBotany 676 $a128.2 700 $aMill$b John Stuart$f1806-1873$067964 702 $aRobson$b John M. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910819558303321 996 $aMiscellaneous writings$9966778 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02066nam 2200457z- 450 001 9910557539203321 005 20211118 035 $a(CKB)5400000000044215 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/73665 035 $a(oapen)doab73665 035 $a(EXLCZ)995400000000044215 100 $a20202111d2020 |y 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurmn|---annan 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aMolecular Vaccines against Pathogens in the Post-Genomic Era 210 $cFrontiers Media SA$d2020 215 $a1 online resource (158 p.) 311 08$a2-88963-513-9 330 $aThis eBook is a collection of articles from a Frontiers Research Topic.
