In particular, he argues, we need to understand the stories people relay and rework of past injustices as they struggle in the present toward a better future. 606 $aRevolutions$xHistory 606 $aRevolutions$xSocial aspects 606 $aRevolutions$xEconomic aspects 606 $aSocial justice 615 0$aRevolutions$xHistory. 615 0$aRevolutions$xSocial aspects. 615 0$aRevolutions$xEconomic aspects. 615 0$aSocial justice. 676 $a321.09/4 700 $aSelbin$b Eric$01654559 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910819177903321 996 $aRevolution, rebellion, resistance$94006467 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04793nam 22005773 450 001 996630071703316 005 20251129110036.0 010 $a1-003-72049-8 010 $a963-386-458-5 024 7 $a10.1515/9789633864586 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC29292761 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL29292761 035 $a(CKB)36552960400041 035 $a(DE-B1597)633369 035 $a(DE-B1597)9789633864586 035 $a(ODN)ODN0010643402 035 $a(EXLCZ)9936552960400041 100 $a20241115d2024 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aLiberals, Conservatives, and Mavericks $eOn Christian Churches of Eastern Europe since 1980. a Festschrift for Sabrina P. The studies confirm that within any religious organization we can expect to find fissures, factions, theological or ideological quarrels, and perhaps even competing interest groups, such as missionary workers, regular clergy versus secular clergy, and sometimes even competing ecclesiastical hierarchies. The main focus of the book rests on the divisions arising within select Christian Churches, as they confront the processes of secularization and atheization. The coverage area includes Russia and the Ukraine, East-Central Europe and South-Eastern Europe. Some chapters focus on individual clergy who challenge the mainstream of their given Church either from a more liberal or from a more conservative perspective, while others deal with the divisive forces impacting the religious organizations. This festschrift to honor Sabrina Ramet?s seminal contribution to the study of religion in the politics of the communist and post-communist world, brings together several generations of scholars from a variety of countries, both those well established in their fields of study as well as young promising academics. 606 $aReligion and politics$zEurope, Eastern$xHistory$y20th century 606 $aReligion and politics$zEurope, Eastern$xHistory$y21st century 606 $aPOLITICAL SCIENCE / Religion, Politics & State$2bisacsh 607 $aEurope, Eastern$xChurch history$y20th century 607 $aEurope, Eastern$xChurch history$y21st century 615 0$aReligion and politics$xHistory 615 0$aReligion and politics$xHistory 615 7$aPOLITICAL SCIENCE / Religion, Politics & State. 676 $a274.7 686 $aREL084000$2bisacsh 700 $aCibulka$b Frank$01775979 701 $aIrwin$b Zachary T$01775980 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996630071703316 996 $aLiberals, Conservatives, and Mavericks$94291195 997 $aUNISA
