French banks were not immune but proved relatively resilient to the global financial crisis reflecting their business and supervision features. An event study of the impact of government measures on CDS, debt, and equity markets points to the reduction of credit risk and financing cost as well as the redistribution of resources. With the crisis still unfolding, uncertainties remain and challenges lie ahead, calling for continued vigilance and enhanced risk management. 410 0$aIMF working paper ;$vWP/09/201. 606 $aBanks and banking$zFrance 606 $aGlobal Financial Crisis, 2008-2009 615 0$aBanks and banking 615 0$aGlobal Financial Crisis, 2008-2009. 676 $a940.53;940.531813 700 $aXiao$b Yingbin$01599334 712 02$aInternational Monetary Fund.$bEuropean Dept. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910817622403321 996 $aFrench Banks Amid the Global Financial Crisis$93921967 997 $aUNINA
