In its time, Rousset's book was translated into German and Latin, but until publication of this book there was no known English translation. The original text was highly controversial four centuries ago, and caesarean section - especially the rising rate of caesarean births, with one-quarter to one-third of women now delivered using this procedure in some countries - continues to be a source of controversy in both the medical and lay text. It therefore seems appropriate to revisit the origins of the ongoing debate. In addition to the translation, the book contains an introduction by the translator and a commentary by the editor, as well as reproductions of contemporary woodcuts and illustrations. Also included are appendices providing a brief summary of 16th century French history, and an insight into Rousset's patron and most notable patients. 606 $aCesarean section 615 0$aCesarean section. 676 $a618.860944 700 $aRousset$b Franc?ois$f1535?-1590?,$0947291 702 $aCyr$b Ronald M. 702 $aBaskett$b Thomas F. 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910789099603321 996 $aCaesarean birth$93808457 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02158nam 2200517 450 001 9910816719403321 005 20230807213920.0 010 $a1-61164-567-0 035 $a(CKB)3710000000371590 035 $a(EBL)3416968 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3416968 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3416968 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr11030598 035 $a(OCoLC)923514331 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000371590 100 $a20150319h20152015 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 00$aFeasting on the Word worship companion$iLiturgies for Year B$hVolume 2 /$fedited by Kimberly Bracken Long ; book design by Drew Stevens ; cover design by Lisa Buckley and Dilu Nicholas 205 $aFirst edition. 210 1$aLouisville, Kentucky :$cWestminster John Knox Press,$d2015. 210 4$dİ2015 215 $a1 online resource (293 p.) 300 $aIncludes index. 311 $a0-664-26038-1 327 $aSeason after Pentecost -- Additional resources. 330 $aBased on the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), Feasting on the Word Worship Companion: Liturgies for Year B, Volume 2 is one of six volumes (two for each lectionary year) that provides liturgical pieces for preparing for worship.
