In addition to being conservative in many respects ? e.g. in preserving nominal cases and subject-verb agreement ? these varieties also display many innovative features. These include extended uses of definite articles, incorporation of attributive adjectives, and a variety of possessive constructions. Although considerable attention has been given to these phenomena in earlier literature, this book is the first to put them in the perspective of typology and grammaticalisation processes. It also looks for a plausible account of the historical origin of the changes involved, arguing that many of them spread from central Sweden, where they were later reverted due to the influence from prestige varieties coming from southern Scandinavia. 410 0$aStudies in Diversity Linguistics ;$vvol. 6. 606 $aGermanic Languages$2HILCC 606 $aLanguages & Literatures$2HILCC 610 $atypology 610 $agrammar of the noun phrase 610 $agrammaticalization process 610 $anorth germanic varieties 610 $aAdjective 610 $aArticle (grammar) 610 $aDative case 610 $aDefiniteness 610 $aElfdalian 610 $aGenitive case 610 $aSwedish language 615 7$aGermanic Languages 615 7$aLanguages & Literatures 700 $aDahl$b Östen$0403070 801 0$bPQKB 801 2$bUkMaJRU 912 $a9910563176503321 996 $aGrammaticalization in the North$92837075 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04267nam 2200613 450 001 9910816618103321 005 20230803220323.0 010 $a0-19-933524-9 010 $a0-19-933521-4 010 $a0-19-933523-0 035 $a(CKB)2550000001139930 035 $a(EBL)1538383 035 $a(OCoLC)862612714 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001041183 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12469323 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001041183 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11009088 035 $a(PQKB)10036717 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1538383 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1538383 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10792469 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL539444 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000001139930 100 $a20130724h20142014 uy| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 04$aThe other Gospels $eaccounts of Jesus from outside the New Testament /$fedited and translated by Bart D.
