The inconclusiveness of international law on this issue - with positive international law and opinio juris calling for criminal prosecution, and State's practice favouring practical political solutions - does nothing more than deepen the confusion already affecting the international legality of national amnesties. Building on emerging trends in State's practice, this book attempts to clarify the question of the legality of national amnesties for crimes against humanity by suggesting a compromised legal framework within which amnesty and accountability can both be accommodated. 606 $aCrimes against humanity 606 $aWar crimes 606 $aPolitical crimes and offenses 606 $aAmnesty 615 0$aCrimes against humanity. 615 0$aWar crimes. 615 0$aPolitical crimes and offenses. 615 0$aAmnesty. 676 $a345/.0235 700 $aNtoubandi$b Faustin Z$0724724 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910815806803321 996 $aAmnesty for crimes against humanity under international law$91414157 997 $aUNINA
