One of the earliest women to write for a living, she defied cultural convention by becoming an innovator and appealing to popular tastes through fiction, drama, and poetry. Memoirs of the Life of Henriette-Sylvie de Molière, a semi autobiographical novel, portrays an enterprising woman who writes the story of her life, a complex tale that runs counter to social expectations and novelistic conventions. A striking work, the story skillfully mixes real events from the author's life with fictional adventures. At a time when few women published, Villedieu's Memoirs is a significant achievement in creating a voice for the early modern woman writer. Produced while the French novel form was still in its infancy, it should be welcomed by any scholar of women's writing or the early development of the novel. 410 0$aOther voice in early modern Europe. 606 $aFrench literature$y17th century$vTranslations into English 610 $abiographical historical fiction, french literature, madame de villedieu, 17th century, biography, early modern period, women writers, cultural conventions, popular tastes, drama, poetry, female authors, social expectations, semi autobiographical novel, enterprising woman, novelistic convention, fictional adventures, significant achievement, marie-catherine desjardins. 615 0$aFrench literature 676 $a843/.4 700 $aVilledieu$cMadame de,$fd. 1683.$0988303 701 $aKuizenga$b Donna$01188038 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910784510803321 996 $aMemoirs of the life of Henriette-Sylvie de Molie?re$93829525 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05040nam 2200553 450 001 9910815057503321 005 20230807221320.0 010 $a3-11-043662-0 024 7 $a10.1515/9783110436624 035 $a(CKB)3710000000455828 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5024744 035 $a(DE-B1597)456530 035 $a(OCoLC)1039693012 035 $a(OCoLC)979762660 035 $a(DE-B1597)9783110436624 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5024744 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr11566876 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000455828 100 $a20180625h20152015 uy| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 00$aMetal ions in toxicology $eeffects, interactions, interdependencies 210 1$aBerlin :$cDe Gruyter,$d[2015] 210 4$d©2015 215 $a1 online resource (456 pages) $cillustrations (some color) 225 1 $aMetal ions in life sciences,$x1559-0836 ;$vvolume 8 311 $a3-11-044281-7 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $tFrontmatter -- $tHistorical Development and Perspectives of the Series / $rSigel, Astrid / Sigel, Helmut / Sigel, Roland K. Not surprisingly, all related research areas are rapidly developing due to the role of metals and metalloids in the environment, for the work place, for food and water supply, etc. Written by 40 internationally recognized experts, the 14 stimulating chapters provide an authoritative and timely resource for scientists working in the wide range from analytical, physical, inorganic, and environmental biochemistry all the way through to toxicology, physiology, and medicine. Volume 8 highlights, supported by nearly 1900 references, in a comprehensive and timely manner the principles of risk assessment regarding the effects of metals on human health. It examines how metal ions and their compounds affect the pulmonary, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal (including liver), hematological, immune, and neurological systems, the kidney, skin and eyes, as well as human reproduction and development. MILS-8 terminates with the role of metal ions as endocrine disrupters, in genotoxicity, and cancer risk. 410 0$aMetal ions in life sciences ;$vv. 8. 606 $aMetals$xToxicology 606 $aMetal ions$xPhysiological effect 615 0$aMetals$xToxicology. 615 0$aMetal ions$xPhysiological effect. 676 $a615.9253 702 $aSigel$b Astrid, $4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt. 702 $aSigel$b Helmut, $4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt. 702 $aSigel$b Roland K.O., $4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910815057503321 996 $aMetal ions in toxicology$93977522 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02760oam 22005533 450 001 9910825193803321 005 20231207220059.0 035 $a(CKB)4100000011891995 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6552129 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6552129 035 $a(OCoLC)1227817308 035 $a(PPN)262874865 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011891995 100 $a20210901d2021 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cn$2rdamedia 183 $anc$2rdacarrier 200 10$aLiterary translator studies /$fKlaus Kaindl, Waltraud Kolb, Daniela Schlager 210 1$aAmsterdam :$cJohn Benjamins,$d2021 210 4$d©2021 215 $a1 online resource 225 0 $aBenjamins translation library$x09297316$vvolume 156 300 $aBased on a conference held at the Centre for Translation Studies in Vienna, 2018. 311 0 $a90-272-0816-6 311 0 $a90-272-6027-3 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 330 $a"This volume extends and deepens our understanding of Translator Studies by charting new territory in terms of theory, methods and concepts. The focus is on literary translators, their roles, identities, and personalities. The book introduces pertinent translator-centered approaches in four sections: historical-biographical studies, social-scientific and process-oriented methods and approaches that use paratexts or translations to study literary translators. Drawing on a variety of concepts, such as identity, role, self, posture, habitus, and voice, the various chapters showcase forgotten literary translators and shed new light on some well-known figures; they examine literary translators not as functioning units but as human beings in their uniqueness. Literary Translator Studies as a subdiscipline of Translation Studies demonstrates how exploring the cultural, social, psychological, and cognitive facets of translatorial subjects contributes to a holistic understanding of translation"--$cProvided by publisher. 410 0$aBenjamins Translation Library 606 $aTranslating and interpreting 606 $aLiterature$xTranslations$xHistory and criticism 606 $aTranslators$vBiography 615 0$aTranslating and interpreting. 615 0$aLiterature$xTranslations$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aTranslators 676 $a418.04 700 $aKaindl$b Klaus$0268016 701 $aKolb$b Waltraud$f1962-$01721603 701 $aSchlager$b Daniela$01721604 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bUMA.HUM 801 2$bUMA.RE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910825193803321 996 $aLiterary translator studies$94121340 997 $aUNINA
