Assuming that movement via phase edges is possible only in the presence of edge features on phase heads, simple restrictions can be introduced on when such edge features can be inserted derivationally. The resulting system is shown to correctly predict MLC/CED effects (including certain exceptions, like intervention without c-command and melting). In addition, it derives oper 410 0$aLanguage faculty and beyond. 606 $aGrammar, Comparative and general$xSyntax 606 $aPrinciples and parameters (Linguistics) 606 $aGenerative grammar 615 0$aGrammar, Comparative and general$xSyntax. 615 0$aPrinciples and parameters (Linguistics) 615 0$aGenerative grammar. 676 $a415 700 $aMu?ller$b Gereon$f1964-$0390975 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910814853803321 996 $aConstraints on displacement$93926303 997 $aUNINA
