In an attempt to deliver on this promise, the George Jackson Brigade launched a violent three-year campaign in the mid-1970's against corporate and state institutions in the Pacific Northwest. This campaign, conceived by a group of blacks and whites, both straight and gay, claimed fourteen bombings, as many bank robberies, and a jailbreak. Drawing on extensive interviews with surviving members of the George Jackson Brigade, Guerrilla USA provides an inside-out perspective on the social movements of the 1970's, revealing the whole era in a new and more complex light. It is also a compelling exploration of the true nature of crime and a provocative meditation on the tension between self-restraint and anger in the process of social change. 606 $aGuerrillas$zUnited States$xHistory$y20th century 610 $a1970s. 610 $aamerican history. 610 $aanarchism. 610 $aanger. 610 $aanti corporations. 610 $aanti state institutions. 610 $aanticapitalist underground. 610 $abank robberies. 610 $abombers. 610 $abombings. 610 $acrime. 610 $acriminals outlaws. 610 $adiscussion books. 610 $aengaging. 610 $ageorge jackson brigade. 610 $aimprisonment. 610 $ainsider perspective. 610 $aintense. 610 $ainterviews. 610 $ajailbreak. 610 $amodern history. 610 $anonfiction. 610 $apacific northwest. 610 $apage turner. 610 $arevolt. 610 $arevolutionary extremism. 610 $asocial change. 610 $asocial movements. 610 $aterrorism. 610 $atrue crime. 610 $aunited states. 610 $aviolence. 610 $awar. 615 0$aGuerrillas$xHistory 676 $a322.4/20973 700 $aBurton-Rose$b Daniel$01694082 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910814754003321 996 $aGuerrilla USA$94072359 997 $aUNINA
