SEA-5 Countries: Does Quality Help Increase Competitiveness? 330 3 $aThis collection of studies analyzes developments in nonprice external competitiveness of France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. While France, Italy, and Portugal have experienced substantial export market share losses, Greece and Spain performed relatively well. Export market share losses appear associated with rigidities in resource allocation (sectoral, geographical, technological) relative to peers and lower productivity gains in high value-added sectors. Disaggregated analysis of goods and services export markets provides insights on aspects such as quality, market concentration, growth of destination markets, and geographical and sectoral diversification. Also, increased import penetration, offshoring and FDI could improve productivity and export performance. 410 0$aIMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;$vNo. 2008/112 606 $aExports$zEurope, Southern 606 $aCompetition$zEurope, Southern 606 $aExports and Imports$2imf 606 $aFinance: General$2imf 606 $aForeign Exchange$2imf 606 $aInfrastructure$2imf 606 $aProduction and Operations Management$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics: Production$2imf 606 $aTrade: General$2imf 606 $aModels of Trade with Imperfect Competition and Scale Economies$2imf 606 $aEmpirical Studies of Trade$2imf 606 $aInternational Investment$2imf 606 $aLong-term Capital Movements$2imf 606 $aInternational Finance: General$2imf 606 $aEconomic Growth of Open Economies$2imf 606 $aIndustrialization$2imf 606 $aManufacturing and Service Industries$2imf 606 $aChoice of Technology$2imf 606 $aTechnological Change: Other$2imf 606 $aGeneral Financial Markets: General (includes Measurement and Data)$2imf 606 $aInternational economics$2imf 606 $aFinance$2imf 606 $aMacroeconomics$2imf 606 $aCurrency$2imf 606 $aForeign exchange$2imf 606 $aTechnology$2imf 606 $ageneral issues$2imf 606 $aExports$2imf 606 $aCompetition$2imf 606 $aExport performance$2imf 606 $aImports$2imf 606 $aService exports$2imf 606 $aInternational trade$2imf 606 $aFinancial markets$2imf 606 $aInvestments, Foreign$2imf 606 $aIndustrial productivity$2imf 607 $aGreece$2imf 615 0$aExports 615 0$aCompetition 615 7$aExports and Imports 615 7$aFinance: General 615 7$aForeign Exchange 615 7$aInfrastructure 615 7$aProduction and Operations Management 615 7$aMacroeconomics: Production 615 7$aTrade: General 615 7$aModels of Trade with Imperfect Competition and Scale Economies 615 7$aEmpirical Studies of Trade 615 7$aInternational Investment 615 7$aLong-term Capital Movements 615 7$aInternational Finance: General 615 7$aEconomic Growth of Open Economies 615 7$aIndustrialization 615 7$aManufacturing and Service Industries 615 7$aChoice of Technology 615 7$aTechnological Change: Other 615 7$aGeneral Financial Markets: General (includes Measurement and Data) 615 7$aInternational economics 615 7$aFinance 615 7$aMacroeconomics 615 7$aCurrency 615 7$aForeign exchange 615 7$aTechnology 615 7$ageneral issues 615 7$aExports 615 7$aCompetition 615 7$aExport performance 615 7$aImports 615 7$aService exports 615 7$aInternational trade 615 7$aFinancial markets 615 7$aInvestments, Foreign 615 7$aIndustrial productivity 676 $a382.6 700 $aLissovolik$b Bogdan$01673846 701 $aEscolano$b Julio$01673847 701 $aFabrizio$b Stefania$01103907 701 $aSchule$b Werner$01673848 701 $aBennett$b Herman$01602647 701 $aTokarick$b Stephen$01673849 701 $aXiao$b Yuan$01451477 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910813694703321 996 $aCompetitiveness in the Southern Euro Area$94038225 997 $aUNINA
