The establishment of Communist-led governments often met not only civil but also armed resistance. These actions were taken by partisan groups and paramilitary forces which in some cases had been formed already during the war to support axis forces. In other cases - like Poland's Armia Krajowa - they fought Nazi and Soviet occupiers with the same fervour. The aims of the ?ghters were the end of Communist rule and - like in the Baltic region - independence from the Soviet Union. Di?culties in accessing sources and research taboos as well as a focus on other aspects of the Cold War are reasons why violent resistance in Europe after the Second World War is a topic yet rather underestimated and comparably little investigated by historiography. This book gives a comprehensive ?rst overview of the ultimately futile attempts to end the rule of Moscow and her proxies. 606 $aUntergrundkrieg 606 $aNachkriegszeit 606 $aOsteuropa 606 $aAntikommunismus 606 $aHinter dem Eisernen Vorhang 606 $aKalter Krieg 606 $aPartisanenkampf 606 $aWiderstand 606 $aAnti-communism 606 $aBehind the iron curtain 606 $aCold war 606 $apartisan fights 606 $aresistance 615 4$aUntergrundkrieg 615 4$aNachkriegszeit 615 4$aOsteuropa 615 4$aAntikommunismus 615 4$aHinter dem Eisernen Vorhang 615 4$aKalter Krieg 615 4$aPartisanenkampf 615 4$aWiderstand 615 4$aAnti-communism 615 4$aBehind the iron curtain 615 4$aCold war 615 4$apartisan fights 615 4$aresistance 676 $a943 702 $aSchriffl$b David$4ctb 702 $aDickson$b Keith$4ctb 702 $aMertelsmann$b Olaf$4ctb 702 $aVaitkevicius$b Vykintas$4ctb 702 $aPomiecko$b Aleksandra$4ctb 702 $aWnuk$b Rafal$4ctb 702 $aIsaiuk$b Olesia$4ctb 702 $aStatiev$b Alexander$4ctb 702 $aZi?tek$b Adam$4ctb 702 $aKatrebova Blehova$b Beata$4ctb 702 $aRipka$b Vojtech$4ctb 702 $aHoreni?$b Karina$4ctb 702 $aGehler$b Michael$4ctb 702 $aMurber$b Ibolya$4ctb 702 $aBudeanca$b Cosmin$4ctb 702 $aClark$b Roland$4ctb 702 $aKasmi$b Marenglen$4ctb 702 $aZec$b Dejan$4ctb 702 $aUrsu$b Ioana$4ctb 702 $aBozanich$b Stevan$4ctb 702 $aVoskresenski$b Valentin$4ctb 702 $aGehler$b Michael$4edt 702 $aSchriffl$b David$4edt 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910811695803321 996 $aViolent Resistance$93936588 997 $aUNINA
