Volkmann enumerates and describes many of the works which illustrated the contemporary obsession with hieroglyph, emblem and device, particularly those from France and Germany, thus complementing Karl Giehlow's earlier Hieroglyphenkunde on the subject. Volkmann's book highlights both Renaissance theories of the image as language and the symbol as an aid to an understanding of the meaning of life and the nature of God. Raybould's translation has been described as elegant, admirable and impeccable and includes an introduction, extensive notes and several additional essays on topics relevant to the field. 410 0$aBrill's Studies in Intellectual History$vv. 281. 410 0$aBrill's studies in intellectual history.$pBrill's studies on art, art history, and intellectual history ;$vv. 28. 606 $aHieroglyphics$xHistory$y16th century 606 $aEmblems$xHistory$y16th century 606 $aArt, Renaissance$xThemes, motives 606 $aPrinters' marks 606 $aArt, Renaissance$xThemes, motives$2fast 606 $aEmblems$2fast 606 $aHieroglyphics$2fast 606 $aPrinters' marks$2fast 608 $aHistory.$2fast 615 0$aHieroglyphics$xHistory 615 0$aEmblems$xHistory 615 0$aArt, Renaissance$xThemes, motives. 615 0$aPrinters' marks. 615 7$aArt, Renaissance$xThemes, motives. 615 7$aEmblems. 615 7$aHieroglyphics. 615 7$aPrinters' marks. 676 $a709.02/4 700 $aVolkmann$b Ludwig$f1870-1947.$01668707 701 $aRaybould$b Robin$01641288 701 $aVolkmann$b Ludwig$f1870-1947.$01668707 801 0$bNL-LeKB 801 1$bNL-LeKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910810811903321 996 $aHieroglyph, emblem, and Renaissance pictography$94029463 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03768nam 22006015 450 001 9910349519103321 005 20200703073547.0 010 $a3-030-16275-3 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-030-16275-7 035 $a(CKB)4100000008527466 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-030-16275-7 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5808242 035 $a(PPN)238491390 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000008527466 100 $a20190702d2019 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aPetroleum Science and Technology /$fby Chang Samuel Hsu, Paul R. Readers will learn how the industry operates, from "upstream" exploration and production, "midstream" transportation to "downstream" refining, and manufacturing of finished products. The book also contains unique chapters on midstream operations, learnings from major accidents, and safety/environmental laws and regulations. It builds on the authors' previous books and teaching material from a highly rated course that is taught at the Florida A&M University/Florida State University (USA). 606 $aChemical engineering 606 $aGeochemistry 606 $aFossil fuels 606 $aIndustrial engineering 606 $aProduction engineering 606 $aIndustrial Chemistry/Chemical Engineering$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C27000 606 $aGeochemistry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/G14003 606 $aFossil Fuels (incl.
