The investigation firstly focuses on the syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations that determine the meanings of each individual lexeme and subsequently provides an overall picture of the developments and extensions of the whole lexical field across the different layers of Ancient Hebrew. The investigation sheds new light on the debated issue of the so-called sectarian Qumran writings, by demonstrating that they attest to distinctive patterns of lexical organisation that are not found elsewhere in Ancient Hebrew. The appendix finally discusses the feasibility of drawing concept related conclusions on the basis of linguistic data, thus sketching a possible map of the concept of ?gift?. 410 0$aStudia Semitica Neerlandica ;$v54. 606 $aCeremonial exchange$zPalestine$vTerminology 606 $aGifts in literature 606 $aGifts$vTerminology 606 $aHebrew language$xSemantics 615 0$aCeremonial exchange 615 0$aGifts in literature. 615 0$aGifts 615 0$aHebrew language$xSemantics. 676 $a492.4/014 676 $a492.4014 700 $aZanella$b Francesco$f1979-$01709758 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910809718603321 996 $aThe lexical field of the substantives of "gift" in ancient Hebrew$94099793 997 $aUNINA
