Insurance regulatory and supervisory regime in South Africa is in transition. Currently, the Financial Services Board (FSB-SA) regulates the nonbanking financial services industry, including the insurance sector, in South Africa. With the goal of achieving a safer financial sector to serve South Africa better, the government has proposed major changes in the financial sector. The four policy objectives are: financial stability, consumer protection and market conduct, financial inclusion, and combating financial crime. Market realities in the insurance sector pose significant regulatory challenges, which are well recognized by the authorities. 410 0$aIMF Staff Country Reports; Country Report ;$vNo. 2015/056 606 $aInsurance$zSouth Africa 606 $aInsurance$xState supervision$zSouth Africa 606 $aInsurance$zSouth Africa$xRules and practice$vEvaluation 606 $aInsurance law$zSouth Africa 606 $aInsurance$2imf 606 $aIndustries: Financial Services$2imf 606 $aBusiness and Financial$2imf 606 $aPension Funds$2imf 606 $aNon-bank Financial Institutions$2imf 606 $aFinancial Instruments$2imf 606 $aInstitutional Investors$2imf 606 $aInsurance Companies$2imf 606 $aActuarial Studies$2imf 606 $aGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and Regulation$2imf 606 $aFinancial Institutions and Services: Government Policy and Regulation$2imf 606 $aFinance$2imf 606 $aInsurance & actuarial studies$2imf 606 $aFinancial services law & regulation$2imf 606 $aInsurance companies$2imf 606 $aFinancial services$2imf 606 $aFinancial regulation and supervision$2imf 606 $aInsurance supervision$2imf 606 $aFinancial institutions$2imf 606 $aFinancial services industry$2imf 606 $aLaw and legislation$2imf 606 $aNonbank financial institutions$2imf 607 $aSouth Africa$2imf 615 0$aInsurance 615 0$aInsurance$xState supervision 615 0$aInsurance$xRules and practice 615 0$aInsurance law 615 7$aInsurance 615 7$aIndustries: Financial Services 615 7$aBusiness and Financial 615 7$aPension Funds 615 7$aNon-bank Financial Institutions 615 7$aFinancial Instruments 615 7$aInstitutional Investors 615 7$aInsurance Companies 615 7$aActuarial Studies 615 7$aGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and Regulation 615 7$aFinancial Institutions and Services: Government Policy and Regulation 615 7$aFinance 615 7$aInsurance & actuarial studies 615 7$aFinancial services law & regulation 615 7$aInsurance companies 615 7$aFinancial services 615 7$aFinancial regulation and supervision 615 7$aInsurance supervision 615 7$aFinancial institutions 615 7$aFinancial services industry 615 7$aLaw and legislation 615 7$aNonbank financial institutions 676 $a332.152 801 0$bDcWaIMF 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910808770803321 996 $aSouth Africa$9172791 997 $aUNINA
