To improve decision-making in government and reshape the management system in face of a more complex economy, post-Mao authorities have implemented a number of administrative reforms, including civil service reform which emphasized on selecting and promoting public officials based on their capability and work performance. Thousands of positions have been filled since the civil service system was implemented nationwide in 1993. Griffin's findings indicate that attitudes toward the use force are influenced by authority, fear of victimization, quality of supervision, institutional operations, and role ambiguity. These findings suggest that interactions between officers and supervisory personnel and interactions directly with inmates have a more direct influence on the use force than either perceptions of the larger organization or an officer's individual characteristics. 410 0$aCriminal justice (LFB Scholarly Publishing LLC) 606 $aInmate guards$zArizona$zMaricopa County$vCase studies 606 $aPrison violence$zArizona$zMaricopa County$vCase studies 615 0$aInmate guards 615 0$aPrison violence 676 $a365/.64 700 $aGriffin$b Marie L$01861209 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910968632103321 996 $aThe use of force by detention officers$94467295 997 $aUNINA
