We will hear about the building processes, co-operation with architects and engineers and how librarians and users have reacted to these new buildings. 410 0$aIFLA publications ;$vVolume 171. 606 $aLibrary buildings$xDesign and construction$vCongresses 606 $aLibraries$xEconomic aspects$vCongresses 606 $aLibrary architecture$vCongresses 615 0$aLibrary buildings$xDesign and construction 615 0$aLibraries$xEconomic aspects 615 0$aLibrary architecture 676 $a022.3 686 $aAN 79000$2rvk 702 $aSommer$b Dorothea 702 $aSchmidt$b Janine 702 $aClevstro?m$b Stefan 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910798166503321 996 $aHigh quality design on a low budget$93858152 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03815nam 22006495 450 001 9911031566103321 005 20260119115703.0 010 $a3-032-00922-7 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-032-00922-7 035 $a(CKB)41520873500041 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC32323588 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL32323588 035 $a(OCoLC)1543221340 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-032-00922-7 035 $a(EXLCZ)9941520873500041 100 $a20251001d2025 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aAdapting the Novel for the Stage $eTranslation in Intermedial Circulation /$fby Naciye Sa?lam 205 $a1st ed. 2025. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer Nature Switzerland :$cImprint: Palgrave Macmillan,$d2025. 215 $a1 online resource (267 pages) 225 1 $aAdaptation in Theatre and Performance,$x2947-4051 311 08$a3-032-00921-9 327 $aChapter 1: Introduction -- Chapter 2: Novel to Stage Adaptations as Intersemiotic Translation in Intermedial Circulation -- Chapter 3: Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland Intersemiotic Translation and Intermedial Circulation -- Chapter 4: Intersemiotic Translation of A Clockwork Orange and Intermedial Circulation -- Chapter 5: Intersemiotic Translation of 1984 and Intermedial Circulation -- Chapter 6: Conclusion. 330 $aAdapting the Novel for the Stage: Translation in Intermedial Circulation proposes an integrative framework for understanding novel to stage adaptations. Through a translational lens, it introduces a twofold model that examines creative dynamics through intersemiotic translation and sociocultural dynamics through Bourdieusian sociology. It expands Bourdieu?s theory of international circulation into adaptation studies and introduces the concept of intermedial circulation. Through case studies of Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland, A Clockwork Orange, and Frankenstein, the monograph offers a framework for understanding how novels are transformed into performance through signs, agents, and institutions. It aims to provide a fresh perspective for researchers working at the intersection of translation, theatre, adaptation, multimodality, media, and literary studies. Naciye Sa?lam is a translation studies scholar specializing in literary translation, adaptation, and the sociology of translation, with an interdisciplinary focus. She holds a Ph.D. in Translation Studies and completed her postdoctoral research at the University of Queensland, Australia, supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜB?TAK). Sa?lam is also an experienced translator and has translated two works by Luce Irigaray into Turkish. Her work bridges translation with adaptation, performance, and literature. 410 0$aAdaptation in Theatre and Performance,$x2947-4051 606 $aPerforming arts 606 $aTheater 606 $aAdaptation (Literary, artistic, etc.) 606 $aSemiotics 606 $aTranslating and interpreting 606 $aTheatre and Performance Arts 606 $aAdaptation Studies 606 $aSemiotics 606 $aLanguage Translation 615 0$aPerforming arts. 615 0$aTheater. 615 0$aAdaptation (Literary, artistic, etc.) 615 0$aSemiotics. 615 0$aTranslating and interpreting. 615 14$aTheatre and Performance Arts. 615 24$aAdaptation Studies. 615 24$aSemiotics. 615 24$aLanguage Translation. 676 $a809.2 700 $aSag?lam$b Naciye$01850239 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9911031566103321 996 $aAdapting the Novel for the Stage$94443267 997 $aUNINA
