Ausgehend von den Para-, Peri- und Epitexten beschreibt sie die Spezifik galanter Frauenfiguren im Wechselspiel von poetischen, sozialen und ökonomischen Aspekten der Buch- und Medienlandschaft um 1700. Anonyme Buchhandelsstrukturen und die Orientierung an der preziösen Romantradition Frankreichs erweisen sich als ebenso konstitutiv für ein Erzählen über Geschlecht im galanten Roman wie die Adaption und Modifikation poetischer Traditionen und Gendermodelle durch junge Akademiker auf der Suche nach ,eigenen' bzw. neuen Ausdrucksformen zwischen ,Scherz und Ernst'.
