This year we received 73 submissions. The increasing number indicates that Active Networks continues to be an attractive ?eld of research. Through - reful reviewing and discussion, our program committee decided to fully accept 21 papers. Three papers were conditionally accepted, and were included after shepherding by members of the technical program committee. This volume thus includes these 24 papers which were presented at IWAN 2003. Additional papers were presented in a poster session at the conference. The best paper award went to Kenneth L. Calvert, James N. Gri?oen, - jati Imam, and Jiangbo Li (University of Kentucky) for ?Challenges in Imp- menting an ESP Service,? which begins these proceedings and which began the papers in the High Performance & Network Processors session. Papers in these proceedings are organized into seven sessions: High-Level Active Network - plications, Low-Level Active Network Applications, Self-Organization of Active Services, Management in Active Networks, Experiences with Service Engin- ring for Active Networks, and Selected Topics in Active Networks, ranging from risk management to context-aware handover and peer-to-peer communications. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Computer Science,$x0302-9743 ;$v2982 606 $aComputer communication systems 606 $aSoftware engineering 606 $aOperating systems (Computers) 606 $aInformation storage and retrieval 606 $aApplication software 606 $aManagement information systems 606 $aComputer science 606 $aComputer Communication Networks$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I13022 606 $aSoftware Engineering$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I14029 606 $aOperating Systems$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I14045 606 $aInformation Storage and Retrieval$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18032 606 $aInformation Systems Applications (incl. Reagent-based or reagent-less schemes offer improved detectability of target compounds, modification of the chromatographic properties and/or the stabilization of sensitive compounds until analysis. Either coupled with separation techniques or as a "stand alone" analytical procedure, derivatization offers endless possibilities in all aspects of analytical applications. 606 $aAnalytical chemistry$2bicssc 606 $aChemistry$2bicssc 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $a?D 610 $a2-naphthalenethiol 610 $a96-microwell spectrophotometric assay 610 $aA/P ratio 610 $aacetazolamide 610 $aacetonitrile-related adducts 610 $aacetylenic lipids 610 $aamino acids 610 $abiogenic amines 610 $ablood plasma 610 $aBSTFA 610 $acarbonic anhydrase 610 $acharge-transfer reaction 610 $achemical warfare agents 610 $achiral metabolomics 610 $achloranilic acid 610 $aclams 610 $acreatine 610 $acreatinine 610 $ad-amino acids 610 $aderivatisation 610 $aderivatization 610 $adimethyl labeling 610 $adouble and triple bond localization 610 $aenantiomer separation 610 $aenhancement 610 $aesterification 610 $afluorescence detection 610 $afluorosurfactant-modified gold nanoparticles 610 $aGC-MS 610 $aGC-MS 610 $aglutamine 610 $ahigh-performance liquid chromatography 610 $ahigh-resolution mass spectrometry 610 $ahigh-throughput pharmaceutical analysis 610 $ahomocysteine 610 $ahomocysteine thiolactone 610 $aHPLC 610 $aHPLC-UV/Vis 610 $ahuman serum albumin 610 $ain-source derivatization 610 $ainhibition 610 $alinseed oil 610 $alow-molecular-weight thiols 610 $aLycium barbarum L. 610 $amass spectrometry 610 $amethylation 610 $amonobromobimane 610 $anerve agents 610 $aNovichoks 610 $ao-phthalaldehyde 610 $aP/S ratio 610 $apentafluorobenzyl bromide 610 $apentafluoropropionic anhydride 610 $apharmacokinetics 610 $apigment 610 $aquantification 610 $areduction 610 $arice water 610 $asarin 610 $asilylation 610 $asodium borohydride 610 $astability 610 $asulforaphane 610 $ataurine 610 $aTMS 610 $atoluene 610 $atyrosine kinase inhibitors 610 $aureide 610 $avalidation 610 $azone fluidics 610 $a?-lipoic acid 615 7$aAnalytical chemistry 615 7$aChemistry 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aTzanavaras$b Paraskevas D$4edt$01152027 702 $aTzanavaras$b Paraskevas D$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910576885703321 996 $aDerivatization in Analytical Chemistry$93026330 997 $aUNINA
