Tel Mal?ata is generally identified with biblical Moladah, one of the cities of Judah, although other identifications have been suggested. The Arabic name of the site, Tell el-Mil? (?Hill of the Salt?), is apparently indicative of its association with the production and distribution of salt from the Dead Sea in more recent times. The many Bedouin graves on the upper terrace of the tell significantly hindered the planning of the excavations, and consequently the excavations were concentrated mainly where no graves were discerned. The two-volume report consists of 22 chapters that take the reader through six strata of civilization, ranging from the Middle Bronze Age to the early Byzantine period. 410 0$aTel Aviv University Monograph Series 606 $aIron age$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00979145 606 $aExcavations (Archaeology)$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00917564 606 $aBronze age$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00839439 606 $aAntiquities$2fast$3(OCoLC)fst00810745 606 $aBronze age$zIsrael$zNegev 606 $aIron age$zIsrael$zNegev 606 $aExcavations (Archaeology)$zIsrael$zNegev 607 $aIsrael$zTel Malh?atah$2fast 607 $aIsrael$zNegev$2fast 607 $aIsrael$2fast 607 $aIsrael$xAntiquities 607 $aNegev (Israel)$xAntiquities 607 $aMalh?atah, Tel (Israel) 615 7$aIron age. 615 7$aExcavations (Archaeology) 615 7$aBronze age. 615 7$aAntiquities. 615 0$aBronze age 615 0$aIron age 615 0$aExcavations (Archaeology) 676 $a933/.49 700 $aBeit-Arieh$b Itzhaq$0635070 702 $aBearman$b Gregory 702 $aFreud$b Liora 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910797120203321 996 $aTel Malhata$93789053 997 $aUNINA
