This book aims to vindicate the Ciris, mainly by exploring its use of pre-Virgilian poetic texts largely ignored in previous scholarship. The core of the book consists of a discursive literary commentary, divided into chapters that examine consecutively the poem's main narrative units. Viewing allusion and allegory as intrinsic features of poetic composition rather than mere artistic devices, the book explores, among more prominent intertexts, Apollonius' Argonautica and Callimachus' Hecale, Lucretius and Catullus 64. Allusions are also suggested to Homer and Empedocles, Theocritus, Moschus, and Bion, Nicander and Euphorion, Choerilus of Samos and Asius of Samos, Ennius and Cicero. Through its intricate web of references to poetic intertexts, the Ciris, it is argued, creates an implicit allegorical pattern with an original poetological message. Allusion and Allegory is thus the first book-length study to offer a coherent literary interpretation of this controversial poem. 410 0$aBeitra?ge zur Altertumskunde ;$vBand 346. 606 $aAllusions in literature 606 $aMythology, Classical, in literature 606 $aNarrative poetry, Latin$xHistory and criticism 606 $aLITERARY CRITICISM / Ancient & Classical$2bisacsh 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aAllusions in literature. 615 0$aMythology, Classical, in literature. 615 0$aNarrative poetry, Latin$xHistory and criticism. 615 7$aLITERARY CRITICISM / Ancient & Classical. 676 $a871.01 686 $aFX 178705$2rvk 700 $aKayachev$b Boris$01031410 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910467844103321 996 $aAllusion and allegory$92448774 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01985nam 2200505 450 001 9910796756403321 005 20230718190648.0 010 $a1-9755-0021-0 035 $a(CKB)4100000004817537 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5377970 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000004817537 100 $a20180704d2018 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aDemocracy and education $ean introduction to the philosophy of education /$fJohn Dewey ; with a critical introduction by Patricia H. In this classic work Dewey calls for the complete renewal of public education, arguing for the fusion of vocational and contemplative studies in education and for the necessity of universal education for the advancement of self and society. First published in 1916, Democracy and Education is regarded as the seminal work on public education by one of the most important scholars of the century. 606 $aEducation$xPhilosophy$2FBC 606 $aEducation$xSocial aspects$2FBC 606 $aUddannelse$2FBC 606 $aFilosofi$2FBC 606 $aSociale aspekter$2FBC 615 7$aEducation$xPhilosophy. 615 7$aEducation$xSocial aspects. 615 7$aUddannelse 615 7$aFilosofi 615 7$aSociale aspekter 676 $a370.1 686 $a37$2z 701 $aDewey$b John$046275 702 $aHinchey$b Patricia H. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910796756403321 996 $aDemocracy and education$924581 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02269nas 2200493 n 450 001 990009062840403321 005 20240229084543.0 011 $a0391-8467 035 $a000906284 035 $aFED01000906284 035 $a(Aleph)000906284FED01 035 $a000906284 091 $2CNR$aP 00067176 100 $a20161109a19289999km-y0itaa50------ba 101 0 $aita 102 $aIT 110 $aauu-------- 200 1 $aStudi medievali [1928] 207 1$a1928- 210 $aTorino$cCentro italiano di studi sull'alto medioevo 326 $aSemestrale 421 0$1001000900431$12001$aMedioevo latino : bollettino bibliografico della cultura europea dal secolo VI al XIII 430 0$1001000901738$12001$aNuovi studi medievali 530 0 $aStudi medievali [1928] 675 $a87 675 $a7 675 $a909 675 $a940.1 675 $a82 676 $a809.02 712 02$aCentro italiano di studi sull'alto medioevo 801 0$aIT$bACNP$c20090723 859 4 $uhttp://acnp.cib.unibo.it/cgi-ser/start/it/cnr/dc-p1.tcl?catno=43527&person=false&language=ITALIANO&libr=&libr_th=unina1$zBiblioteche che possiedono il periodico 901 $aSE 912 $a990009062840403321 958 $aBiblioteca della Facoltą di Economia Complesso Universitario Monte S.
