An original and challenging work, The Quest for Epic documents the development of Italian narrative from the chivalric romance at the end of the fifteenth century to the genre of epic in the sixteenth century. Zatti focuses on Ariosto?s Orlando Furioso, written in the early 1500s, and progresses to Tasso?s Jerusalem Delivered, written at the end of the century, but also touches briefly on Boiardo, Ariosto?s great predecessor at the Estense court in Ferrara, as well as on Pulci, Trissino, and many other Italian writers of the period. Zatti highlights the critical debates over narrative form in the sixteenth century that become signposts on the way to literary modernity and the eventual rise of the modern novel. Albert Russell Ascoli?s introduction provides context by mapping Zatti?s criticism and situating it among Italian and Anglo-American literary critical studies, making a case for the contribution this book will have for English-language readers. 606 $aItalian poetry$y16th century$xHistory and criticism 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aItalian poetry$xHistory and criticism. 676 $a851/.409353 700 $aZatti$b Sergio$f1950-$0165731 702 $aLooney$b Dennis, 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910456387303321 996 $aThe quest for epic$92489259 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03065nam 22006012 450 001 9910796225703321 005 20170607121023.0 010 $a981-4620-60-2 024 7 $a10.1355/9789814620604 035 $a(CKB)3790000000033351 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001583633 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)16265579 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001583633 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)14865835 035 $a(PQKB)10664331 035 $a(UkCbUP)CR9789814620604 035 $a(OCoLC)919103954 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse46680 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5124058 035 $a(DE-B1597)491823 035 $a(DE-B1597)9789814620604 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5124058 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr11464879 035 $a(EXLCZ)993790000000033351 100 $a20161007d2015|||| uy| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aDeciphering Southern Thailand's violence $eorganization and insurgent practices of BRN-Coordinate /$fSascha Helbardt$b[electronic resource] 210 1$aSingapore :$cISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute,$d2015. 215 $a1 online resource (xiv, 256 pages) $cdigital, PDF file(s) 225 0 $aUPCC book collections on Project MUSE. This book offers a rare glimpse behind the veil that shrouds BRN-Coordinate. Using exclusive access to and detailed interviews with BRN-Coordinate members, this book analyses the communicative dimension of the insurgency. It depicts the hidden channels and organized violence that drive the region's enduring rebellion as well as BRN's dichotomous existence between silence and communication. 606 $aInsurgency$zThailand, Southern 606 $aViolence$zThailand, Southern 607 $aThailand, Southern$xPolitics and government 615 0$aInsurgency 615 0$aViolence 676 $a303.6909593 700 $aHelbardt$b Sascha$01538492 712 02$aISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910796225703321 996 $aDeciphering Southern Thailand's violence$93788547 997 $aUNINA
