It argues that the communist judicial system was built when the CCP was engaged in a life-or-death struggle with the GMD, meaning that the overriding aim of the judicial system was, from the outset, to safeguard the Party against both internal and external adversaries. This fundamental insecurity and perennial fear of loss of power obsessed the Party throughout the era of Mao and beyond, prompting it to launch numerous political campaigns, which forced communist judicial cadres to choose between upholding basic legal norms and maintaining Party order. In doing all of this, The Communist Judicial System in China, 1927-1976: Building on Fear fills a major lacuna in our understanding of communist-era China. 410 0$aChina : from revolution to reform. 606 $aJustice, Administration of$zChina$xHistory$y20th century 606 $aLaw$zChina -- 20th century -- History 607 $aChina$xPolitics and government$y1912-1949 607 $aChina$xPolitics and government$y1949-1976 610 $aFear, Communist Judicial System, Mao's China. 615 0$aJustice, Administration of$xHistory 615 0$aLaw 676 $a349.51 700 $aFang$b Qiang$f1968-$01218955 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910554224403321 996 $aThe Communist judicial system in China, 1927-1976$92818799 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01466nam 2200421 450 001 996279802903316 005 20231021042629.0 010 $a1-4799-1191-7 035 $a(CKB)3460000000126461 035 $a(NjHacI)993460000000126461 035 $a(EXLCZ)993460000000126461 100 $a20231021d2013 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$a2013 International Symposium on System on Chip (SoC 2013) $eTampere, Finland, 23-24 October 2013 /$fInternational Symposium on System-on-Chip (15th : 2013 : Tampere, Finland) ; editors, Jari Nurmi [and five others] 210 1$aPiscataway, NJ :$cIEEE,$d2013. 215 $a1 online resource (160 pages) $cillustrations 311 $a1-4799-1190-9 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 517 $a2013 International Symposium on System on Chip 517 $aSystem on Chip 606 $aElectronic systems$vCongresses 606 $aNetworks on a chip$vCongresses 606 $aSystems on a chip$vCongresses 615 0$aElectronic systems 615 0$aNetworks on a chip 615 0$aSystems on a chip 676 $a004.16 702 $aNurmi$b Jari 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aPROCEEDING 912 $a996279802903316 996 $a2013 International Symposium on System on Chip (SoC 2013)$93574283 997 $aUNISA LEADER 02980nam 2200589 450 001 9910795462003321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a1-63101-273-8 010 $a1-63101-272-X 035 $a(CKB)4340000000247155 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5306715 035 $a(OCoLC)1013724354 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse56861 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5306715 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr11515592 035 $a(OCoLC)981509186 035 $a(EXLCZ)994340000000247155 100 $a20180315h20182018 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 10$aThis infernal war $ethe Civil War letters of William and Jane Standard /$fedited by Timothy M.
