This act of self-imposed restriction with regard to religious claims to truth is exceptional in the history of religions. It is still extremely difficult to explain even today how such a traditional institution as the Catholic Church could have altered its position so fundamentally. In this volume the authors dispute how the Church came to its position, what the reasons and motives were for its repositioning, what shape this process of change took, and the steps involved in the change: What were the characteristics, circumstances and dynamics of the path of Catholicism to recognizing religious freedom? 606 $a1962-1965 606 $aAufkla?rung 606 $aZweites Vatikanisches Konzil 606 $aZivilgesellschaft 606 $aWerte 606 $aSa?kularisierung 606 $aReligionsfreiheit 606 $aPolitik 606 $aGewalt 606 $aKatholiken 606 $akatholische Kirche 606 $aKatholizismus 606 $aLehre 606 $aModerne 606 $aModernisierung 615 4$a1962-1965 615 4$aAufkla?rung 615 4$aZweites Vatikanisches Konzil 615 4$aZivilgesellschaft 615 4$aWerte 615 4$aSa?kularisierung 615 4$aReligionsfreiheit 615 4$aPolitik 615 4$aGewalt 615 4$aKatholiken 615 4$akatholische Kirche 615 4$aKatholizismus 615 4$aLehre 615 4$aModerne 615 4$aModernisierung 676 $a230.2 700 $aGabriel$b Karl$4aut$01521758 702 $aSpieß$b Christian$4aut 702 $aWinkler$b Katja$4aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910795109803321 996 $aCatholicism and Religious Freedom$93761137 997 $aUNINA
