Conclusion 330 3 $aThis book examines the impact that nostalgia has had on the Labour Party's political development since 1951. It argues that nostalgia has defined Labour's identity and determined the party's trajectory. Nostalgia has hindered policy discussion, determined the form and parameters of party modernisation, shaped internal conflict and cohesion and made it difficult for the party to adjust to socioeconomic changes. It has frequently left the party out of touch with the modern world. In this way, this study offers an assessment of Labour's failures to adapt to the changing nature of post-war Britain and will be of interest to both students and academics and to those with a more general interest in Labour's history and politics. 606 $aPolitics$2mup 606 $aPolitical Parties$2bicssc 606 $aPOLITICAL SCIENCE / Comparative Politics$2bisach 606 $aPolitical parties$2thema 607 $aGreat Britain$xPolitics and government$y1945- 608 $aElectronic books. 610 $aIdentity. 610 $aLabour Party. 610 $aModernisation. 610 $aNostalgia. 610 $aPost-war Britain. 615 7$aPolitics 615 7$aPolitical Parties 615 7$aPOLITICAL SCIENCE / Comparative Politics 615 7$aPolitical parties 676 $a324.24107 700 $aJobson$b Richard$01576213 801 2$bUkMaJRU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910795052203321 996 $aNostalgia and the post-war Labour Party$93853859 997 $aUNINA
