This book studies a Yoruba community in the supply hinterland of Ibadan over twenty years. It tells the social and agricultural history of its various producers, from the Nigerian civil war, via the oil boom and bust, to structural adjustment. It argues that principles of occupational organisation inherited from the past are now being applied to the creation of a competitive and responsive regional market that promises to be one of the most important social forms in West Africa's future. 410 0$aInternational African library ;$v18. 606 $aAgriculture$xEconomic aspects$zNigeria$zIbadan Region 606 $aAgricultural laborers$zNigeria$zIbadan Region 606 $aFood supply$zNigeria$zIbadan Region 606 $aYoruba (African people)$zNigeria$zIbadan Region 606 $aYoruba (African people)$xAgriculture 615 0$aAgriculture$xEconomic aspects 615 0$aAgricultural laborers 615 0$aFood supply 615 0$aYoruba (African people) 615 0$aYoruba (African people)$xAgriculture. 676 $a338.1966925 700 $aGuyer$b Jane I.$0661065 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910794182603321 996 $aAn African niche economy$93709940 997 $aUNINA
