Their identifying feature was a concern with linguistic issues particularly involving the correct use of names. The origin of this concern is taken to be Lunyu XIII.3. The group, as listed in the Han Shu, comprised seven men living between the sixth and third centuries BC. Only four of these men have extant writings attributed to them (Deng Xi, Yin Wen, Hui Shi and Gongsun Long) and in three of these there are issues of authenticity. Nevertheless, it is an important group for an understanding of the development of pre-Qin philosophy as the men themselves and the concepts they explored feature prominently in the writings of the other schools. The present work contains four sections: (i) the extant writings of the four men; (ii) all significant references to them in other works up to the fourth century AD; (iii) other significant writing on the topics up to that time; and (iv) four appendices on specific issues concerning the school. 606 $aPhilosophy, Chinese$yTo 221 B.C 615 0$aPhilosophy, Chinese 676 $a181.11 702 $aJohnston$b Ian$f1939- 702 $aWang$b Ping$f1973- 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910794175803321 996 $aThe Mingjia & related texts$93700681 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02297nam 2200661 a 450 001 9910791428803321 005 20230427235811.0 010 $a1-282-76100-5 010 $a9786612761003 010 $a0-472-02213-X 035 $a(CKB)2560000000050754 035 $a(OCoLC)680623210 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebrary10412487 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000631151 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11420408 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000631151 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10592090 035 $a(PQKB)10427955 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000411730 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11314279 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000411730 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10357193 035 $a(PQKB)11640619 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3414920 035 $a(EXLCZ)992560000000050754 100 $a20150424d2010|||| s|| | 101 0 $aeng 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aAmericans, Congress, and Democratic Responsiveness : Public Evaluations of Congress and Electoral Consequences$b[electronic resource] 210 $aAnn Arbor, MI, USA$cUniversity of Michigan Press$d20100701 210 $cUniversity of Michigan Press 215 $a1 online resource (234 p.) 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 311 $a0-472-03409-X 606 $aPOLITICAL SCIENCE$2bisac 606 $aAmerican Government / General$2bisac 606 $aVoting$zUnited States 606 $aPublic opinion$zUnited States 606 $aGovernment - U.S$2HILCC 606 $aLaw, Politics & Government$2HILCC 606 $aPolitical Institutions & Public Administration - U.S., Legislative Branch$2HILCC 615 7$aPOLITICAL SCIENCE 615 7$aAmerican Government / General 615 0$aVoting 615 0$aPublic opinion 615 7$aGovernment - U.S. 615 7$aLaw, Politics & Government 615 7$aPolitical Institutions & Public Administration - U.S., Legislative Branch 676 $a328.73 700 $aJones$b David R.$f1968-$01511452 702 $aMcDermott$b Monika L 801 0$bPQKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910791428803321 996 $aAmericans, Congress, and Democratic Responsiveness : Public Evaluations of Congress and Electoral Consequences$93744765 997 $aUNINA
