It reveals how the first Metrica books emerged in the second half of the fifteenth century, discussing the titles given to them in different periods in history, and explains why the Lithuanian Metrica should be considered the state archive of early Lithuania. Material hitherto unknown in academic literature about the fate of the Lithuanian Metrica at the end of the eighteenth century, in the last years of the existence of the joint Polish-Lithuanian state, is also revealed in this account. The book dedicates a great deal of attention to the history of the publication and research of the documents and books of the Lithuanian Metrica, which are now kept in Moscow, Russia, as a historical source. 410 0$aLithuanian studies without borders. 606 $aArchival resources$zLithuania 606 $aArchives$zLithuania$xHistory 607 $aLithuania 610 $aArchive. 610 $aAustria. 610 $aGrand Duchy of Lithuania. 610 $aLithuanian Institute of History. 610 $aLithuanian Metrica. 610 $aMoscow. 610 $aPoland. 610 $aRadziwi??. 610 $aRussia. 610 $aSapieha. 610 $aSimonas Daukantas. 610 $aState Russian Archive of Early Acts. 610 $aVilnius. 610 $abooks. 610 $achancellery documentation. 610 $adeeds. 610 $adiplomacy. 610 $afiles. 610 $ahistorical documents. 610 $ahistoriography. 610 $ahistory. 610 $amanuscripts. 610 $apolitics. 610 $apublication history. 610 $aresearch. 615 0$aArchival resources 615 0$aArchives$xHistory. 676 $a947.5 700 $aDubonis$b Artu?ras$01514747 702 $aAntanavi?ius$b Darius$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aRagauskien?$b Raimonda$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910794122203321 996 $aThe Lithuanian metrica$93750112 997 $aUNINA
