For four years, the author joined these scientists in their sampling expeditions into the Caledonian forests, observed their efforts in the laboratory to produce data from wood samples, and followed their discussions of a graph showing the fluctuations of the Scottish temperature over the past millennium in conferences, workshops and peer-review journals. This epistemography of climate change is of broad social and academic relevance - both for its contextualised treatment of a key contemporary science, and for its original formulation of a methodology for investigating and writing about expertise. 410 0$aNew ethnographies. 410 0$aManchester scholarship online. 606 $aClimatic changes$xResearch$zScotland 606 $aClimatic changes$zScotland 610 $aClimate action. 610 $aClimate change. 610 $aClimate science. 610 $aCredibility. 610 $aDendroclimatology. 610 $aEpistemography. 610 $aEthnography. 610 $aKnowledge. 610 $aScience and Technology Studies. 610 $aSocial research methodology. 610 $aSociology. 615 0$aClimatic changes$xResearch 615 0$aClimatic changes 676 $a304.25 700 $aRami?rez-i-Olle?$b Meritxell$01518136 801 0$bStDuBDS 801 1$bStDuBDS 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910793823503321 996 $aInto the woods$93755518 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02228oas 2200625 a 450 001 9910147081103321 005 20241223213014.0 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2212159-6 035 $a(OCoLC)62409684 035 $a(CONSER) 2009252948 035 $a(CKB)1000000000033759 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000033759 100 $a20051202a20059999 uy 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurunu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aAfrican journal of information and communication technology 210 $aSydney, Australia $cUniversity of Technology 300 $aRefereed/Peer-reviewed 300 $aAfrican Journal of Information and Communication Technology (AJICT)--is an international journal providing a publication vehicle for coverage of topics of interest to those involved in computing, communication networks, electronic communications, information technology systems and Bioinformatics.
