It examines the emergence during the nineteenth century of the concept of public space and the development of new strategies for its regulation, the establishment, the new conditions created by the emergence in 1920 of a Northern Ireland state, of a near monopoly of public space enjoyed by Protestants and unionists, and the break down of that monopoly in more recent decades. Today policy makers and politicians struggle to devise a strategy for the management of public space in a divided city, while endeavouring to promote a new sense of civic identity that will transcend long-standing sectarian and political divisions. 606 $aPublic spaces$zNorthern Ireland$zBelfast 606 $aHistory$2mup 606 $aModern History To 20th Century: C 1700 To C 1900$2bicssc 606 $aHISTORY / Europe / Great Britain / Georgian Era (1714-1837)$2bisach 606 $aHISTORY / Europe / Great Britain$2bisach 607 $aNorthern Ireland$zBelfast$2fast 607 $aBelfast (Northern Ireland)$xCivilization$xHistory 608 $aHistory. 610 $aBelfast. 610 $acivic identity. 610 $aparades. 610 $apublic spaces. 610 $asectarian. 610 $aunionism. 615 0$aPublic spaces 615 7$aHistory 615 7$aModern History To 20th Century: C 1700 To C 1900 615 7$aHISTORY / Europe / Great Britain / Georgian Era (1714-1837) 615 7$aHISTORY / Europe / Great Britain 676 $a941.67 700 $aBryan$b Dominic$01530530 702 $aNagle$b John 702 $aConnolly$b Sean$f1951- 801 2$bUkMaJRU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910793501503321 996 $aCivic identity and public space$93775628 997 $aUNINA LEADER 06124oam 22014294 450 001 9910779275703321 005 20230422050717.0 010 $a1-4552-9631-7 010 $a1-4552-8206-5 010 $a1-283-53578-5 010 $a9786613848239 010 $a1-4552-7896-3 035 $a(CKB)2550000000102377 035 $a(EBL)3014804 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000656650 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11412565 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000656650 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10635105 035 $a(PQKB)11541026 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3014804 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3014804 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10557504 035 $a(OCoLC)815731553 035 $a(IMF)IFFCEE0000000 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000000102377 100 $a20020129d2000 uf 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aInternational Finance and Financial Crises : $eEssays in Honor of Robert P. This third volume in the series reports on studies undertaken at contaminated sites such as farmland, forests, and marine and freshwater environments, with a particular focus on livestock, wild plants and mushrooms, crops, and marine products in those environments. It also provides additional data collected in the subsequent years to show how the radioactivity levels in agricultural products and their growing environments have changed with time and the route by which radioactive materials entered agricultural products as well as their movement between different components (e.g., soil, water, and trees) within an environmental system (e.g., forests). The book covers various topics, including radioactivity testing of food products; decontamination trials for rice and livestock production; the state of contamination in, trees, mushrooms, and timber; the dynamics of radioactivity distribution in paddy fields and upland forests; damage incurred by the forestry and fishery industries; and the change in consumers? attitudes. Chapter 19 introduces a real-time radioisotope imaging system, a pioneering technique to visualize the movement of cesium in soil and in plants. This is the only book to provide systematic data on the actual change of radioactivity, and as such is of great value to all researchers who wish to understand the effect of radioactive fallout on agriculture. In addition, it helps the general public to better understand the issues of radio-contamination in the environment. The project is ongoing; the research groups from the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences of The University of Tokyo continue their work in the field to further evaluate the long-term effects of the Fukushima accident. 410 0$aEarth and Environmental Science Series 606 $aRadiation dosimetry 606 $aPollution 606 $aAgriculture 606 $aForests and forestry 606 $aPhysiology 606 $aEnvironmental monitoring 606 $aRadiation Dosimetry and Protection 606 $aPollution 606 $aAgriculture 606 $aForestry 606 $aAnimal Physiology 606 $aEnvironmental Monitoring 615 0$aRadiation dosimetry. 615 0$aPollution. 615 0$aAgriculture. 615 0$aForests and forestry. 615 0$aPhysiology. 615 0$aEnvironmental monitoring. 615 14$aRadiation Dosimetry and Protection. 615 24$aPollution. 615 24$aAgriculture. 615 24$aForestry. 615 24$aAnimal Physiology. 615 24$aEnvironmental Monitoring. 676 $a363.7 686 $aSCI026000$aSCI070000$aTEC003000$aTEC003040$aTEC010000$2bisacsh 702 $aNakanishi$b Tomoko M.$f1950-$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aO'Brien$b Martin$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aTanoi$b Keitaro$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910350338203321 996 $aAgricultural Implications of the Fukushima Nuclear Accident (III)$93572706 997 $aUNINA
